I just recently purchased the 1TB version of this drive (Ecogreen F2). I am pleased to report that it is the best overall drive I've ever used, it is almost as fast as the 500gb single platter Seagate 7200.12 drive I use as a system drive and has better vibrational characteristics than the 640gb WD ...

Ok so I guess I'll post my result here as well. Right now I am running the stress test for my HD4770. Test Setup: I am using my HTPC rig as it is my most powerful and versatile setup I've got, GPU fan speeds are fixed at 30% (point of inaudibility from 1m) and 100% using Catalyst Control Center v9.3...

Why not invert the ATX standard and then reinforce the videocard mounting mechanism. Then it would be a matter of placing the PCI (or PCI-e) slots below the main card(s) and then creating a mountable tower heatsink for GPU. Or instead of making a GPU "socket" just re-engineer the slot that is alread...

I agree with above posters, unless you are gunning to play crysis maxed out, you will not need anything above an HD4670 for your resolution. That card is the lowest wattage, but maybe not necessarily the best value for money in terms of performance. So you may want to factor that in. 9800GT/8800GT (...

Thanks for taking the time to answer all of these questions Jay T! The I've been following the Maui platform for quite a while now and I have been really intrigued by it. Right now, the only function it would give me is the D2 audio amp card on top of my existing setup, since I specifically found a ...

HD 3850 stock is only exception in noisy single slots... But doesn't Evga allow changing heatsink without voiding a warranty, then it would be good to simply get Accelero S1 and use it passively or put slow speed 120mm fan on it with zipties. I thought EVGA made a dual slot Akimbo cooler specifical...

From all of the initial impressions I have seen from reviewers, I am tempted to believe that the audio quality is fairly decent. Hey alexh, For the most part, Antec NSK cases come with a pretty decent earthwatts (mostly by seasonic, some by delta). The thing is, if you do switch out to a new power supply, the cord from the atx power connector to the front VFD or LCD screen goes with it so you need to get an adapter from antec...

It isn't necessary to have just above ambient temps. But in the same way, it isn't necessary to have an ultra quiet computer. It is just the way of a computer enthusiast to have the "best" (insert user changeable variable here). That would include temps, benchmarking speed, decibels, and even the ap...

Temps are not terrible in the least. I'm running under 30c load with a nearly passive Ninja Mini, but that's because I'm using a 45w AMD BE-2400. Thermalright HR-01 3U = Scythe Ninja Mini Killer?
Ok, maybe not, but it could be a contender. A tower cooler with similar dimensions. Less pipes and surface area but more solid construction. As I remeber the HR-01 was beaten by the Ninja, but seemed to do better in a lower airflow environment. The smaller profile might also help it slip into those ...
