Re: Looking for advice on new build, fairly quiet

What's your monitor resolution? FYI, Football Manager is the only one of those games that will make use of 4 cores + HT. Granted, it's a nice speed bump for that one game. 1920x1080 I primarily chose the Xeon for streaming purposes Edit: There's no major faults in the build? I'm most concerned abou...

Looking for advice on new build, fairly quiet

Hello, I've picked a Xeon processor because I can get it cheap (compared to an i7) and could use HT while streaming games (compared to an i5). Not looking to overclock I picked a cheap motherboard. As for the PSU I recognized 500W would be enough. Not too sure if the be quiet! E9-500 is the best qui...

Unwise to re-use a 6 year old Corsair TX 650W?

Hello, I'm in the works of a new build and I was looking into re-using my current case and, hopefully, the current PSU. What do you guys think? The current PSU is a 6 year old Corsair TX 650W. At the moment, these are the parts I'm looking to put together: CASE: Antec P182B MOBO: ASRock Z77 PRO3 ATX...

Re: Gaming PC for a friend

Thanks for your reply! Case: if the budget is tight, this is a big expense. Any reasons for the R4 in particular over something cheaper? PSU: The prices I have seen for the Fractal Design Tesla are quite high, again if the budget is tight, this is a big expense. Perhaps consider the Seasonic G450 in...

I feel confident that I placed the fan in the right header but I will re-check once I post this. EDIT: I'm sure it's placed right. It's a 4 pin and its connected to a 4 pin. It says CPU FAN next to it on the mb next as well. There's no other options. I'm totally useless inside BIOS, but I managed to...

I've downloaded Speedfan and found something weird. I don't know if it's something worry about but anyway; Speedfan detects some part that is 63°C. I can't find that in Everest :? I opened the case and can't find any part that hot... Could it be that Speedfan is wrong? Which one do I trust? http://...

Zalman CNPS9700NT running at 2800 RPM causing noise

Hello, I've bought a new computer and I installed it yesterday. It's running well so far but I'm very disappointed with the noise level! I've opened the case to locate the sound(s) and I found that the cpu fan is moving pretty fast, so I downloaded Everest and apparently the cpu fan is running at ~2...

Ugh.. yeah. Should I seriously consider a new case or is it worth a shot? I have considered to buy a new case but was hoping the old would do
