Does anyone know if I change the original fan with a noctua nf-s12-800 which I power from the motherboard (not from the psu) will the psu work properly if it's not seeing any fan?

mattthemuppet, what stresses me the most is idle noise, that high frequency constant noise. Seek noise on the other hand, i don't find that annoying, plus most seek noise can be eliminated by suspending the hd. Hopefully by the end of this week i'll put my hands on one of the hdrives QuietOC suggest...
