Jay posted a pretty comprehensive review of the board. http://links.amd.com/ZinoHD Thanks, that's ideal :) It does look to be an excellent little unit, I am somewhat disappointed by the idle power - Mac Mini is only 14W (and double the price) I even left it on overnight in my bedroom and it was onl...

I am not saying that Maui is the only solution or the perfect solution, there are other solutions and a discrete GPU card or alternative chipset is certainly an option. You misunderstand my comment. I am not questioning the utility of the Maui platform. I am questioning the utility of the 7.1 pre-a...

A quick question for JayT - Are you the poster otherwise known as Java Jack? I have used Java Jack on some sites, however it is not always available when I register. the thought behind Maui is that if you have a nice AVR but want to integrate an HTPC into your entertainment stack without sacraficing audio quality, Maui + 7.1 pre amp card will do that. But why would you go that route rather than NVIDIA's 8X00/9X00 IGP or AMD HD4XXX series video cards that pass 7...

Just to follow up on this a little... My PS2 has an optical audio output, and my XBox 360 has HDMI. My Sony HT 5.1 system has multiple inputs of these types. I think Luminair still has an important point. I think the Maui platform is super sweet, but it can't replace my receiver. And if I may add m...

Just to be clear, I cannot speak officially on AMD's behalf while posting in the forum. I will answer questions to the best of my ability, but none of my answers would be official statements or AMD policy or future plans. With that said... We are working with other vendors, but I cannot really speak...

The comment from Jay Taylor above is just one of all the reasons not to buy the MSI Maui. The AMD processors for it (Maui BIOS and mobo chipset compatible) are too old and inefficient now.:evil: The new AMD Phenom II (was thinking of the X3) are probably not supported by the BIOS and ...
