Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
My supply has a 20+4 pin ATX supply cable of 40 cm long, and I needed an extension of at least 15 cm to get it around my mobo. It depends a bit on where the 4 pin connector is located, but worst case you should route it through the case, rather than behind the mobo tray. Or buy an extension cable, l...

Re: PSU Suggestion : modular and silent
I just bought a BeQuiet Pure Power 300W supply. They have also supplies with larger power. They get very good reviews here in the Netherlands, and are inaudible. 80plus certified and 40 euro.

Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
These temps of 90-100 are unrealistic. Use realtemp or HW monitor If you aren't sure check the BIOS for your real idle temps for reference. You're absolutely right. Just like I mentioned, I compared to Realtemp which I trust more. It gives exactly the same value as Speedfan. The BIOS gives slightly...

Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
I've kept the HDD cage in place. Otherwise you cannot load more than 3 hard drives. For reading temperature of the CPU core, I was always using Everest, which showed me an idle CPU temp of 100 degrees C, going up to 120 degrees when doing some activity. After replacing the fans, and still a temp of ...

Re: Cooler Master Silencio 550 Quiet ATX Tower
I have just bought this case and put my old mini-itx home server in it. Actually the power supply from my In-Win mini-itx case broke down, and I was looking for a replacement. So I have now a passively cooled Pegatron/POW Atom330/ION board with 4 hard drives mounted. Mounting is very easy, and the r...

That's how I do it. You can edit rules directly too, but I don't enjoy that method. :) This exactly what I did as well. I actually moved from IE to firefox because of the availability of a powerful ad blocker !!! On the top of your web site you could encourage people to make an exception for SPCR, ...

This whole issue calls for some common sense thinking. I refer to the need/desire for high efficiency at very low power demand. For a large part I agree with your comment. The savings made per Watt are not huge, until you accumulate them allthogether... In the Netherlands, roughly per Watt for an a...
