Re: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB & Momentus 750GB
^ || You just have to worry about setting up the proper alignment. The best/easiest way to do it is if you have a Vista/Win7 machine, and you might be able to do it with some of the latest distros of Linux. Just pop the drive in the machine, format to NTFS, take the drive out and put it in the XP m...

Re: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB & Momentus 750GB
I understand Windows 7 and Windows XP read and write data to HDD in different ways. Since this seagate 2TB HDD will be used in an XP computer first, data would be written to it using XP method. Then when I shift the same HDD (with data) to a Win7 computer, data would be read using the Win 7 method....

Re: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB & Momentus 750GB
I basically want to know whether I can still use this HDD (only for storing data, i.e. no OS installed) on a Windows 7 system, even though I had previously used this HDD (again -only for storing data, i.e. no OS installed) on a Win XP system.
Will all my data be lost?

I had a Sapphire 4870 and at stock it was still too noisy at idle. The best way I found to quiet the beast was to modify the bios to reduce 2D and UVD to GPU 160, Mem 225, voltage 1.083. It really slowed down the fan and didn't increase the video card temperature. I would not dare to play with any ...
