Re: Silencing the Silverstone FT05: Noctua or Thermalright

boost: no can do. lodestar: Thanks for the tip! I decided to try the cheaper approach first since I can get the Noctua NF-F12 PWM cheaper than usual (retail) and lo and behold I had to double check the Noctua fan was actually spinning! It's so much quieter than the previous fan. Thanks man. Now the ...

Silencing the Silverstone FT05: Noctua or Thermalright

Hello, I recently bought this excellent case (except for cable management in the back...) and I need to make it as quiet as possible. All but the HS seems to be making most of the noise (Noctua NH-U12P SE2). Been roaming around the web, reading reviews here and there and I've now torn between these ...

Re: Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

Don't think I can wait that long :P Other GPU I was thinking is Sparkle NVIDIA GeForce GT430 but I'm wondering if the PSU will be sufficient for it.

Re: Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

It cost $320 :) yeah, it is STILL expensive but I liked it really much already. Even though I would have picked a Streacom F7C for example, I wouldn't have got it this cheap (considering all the extra stuff I would have had to buy with the Streacom). Now I gotta think of a low-profile GPU to go alon...

Re: Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

Well, the main purpose will be HTPC + torrent client + _light_ NAS box that will be on 24/7 so low power consumption is a must. I won't game with this system. I have the other PC for that purpose.

Re: Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

I couldn't really decide so I bought the OrigenAE M10  I know I know, it's really expensive for what you get BUT the reason for this was that a) I got it way cheaper than the normal price b) it comes with PicoPSU c) with built-in IR d) with VFD (was never a must but it's a nice bonus) e) Good ...

Re: Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

I've been looking at the Antec ISK but yeah, I also noticed that it takes a bit of work to add a 3,5" there.

Hey the Lian Li PC-Q09 doesn't look bad at all. I'll keep my eye on that... thanks!

Re: Seasonic X-400 enough for this system?

Hmm started to think... is there anything where I could improve this system? I want to keep it as cool as possible and be very low on power consumption. Is it any use moving to PicoPSU with this? Getting rid of this mobo and buying a Intel DH67CF itx mobo for example and pairing it up with a 2100T o...

Tiny ITX case with space for one 3,5" HDD

Hello, Is there any case that, yet minimalistic and simple, could still be able to fit a 3,5" HDD inside? I'd be using PicoPSU of course and if things get really tight, I could even give up of the HDD and just use a SDD instead with external HDD. I'm thinking of something like this: http://cdn-stati...

Seasonic X-400 enough for this system?

Hi all, I am about to replace my old Enermax Modu82+ 525W ATX PSU for Seasonix X-400 fanless PSU and now I am wondering if it will be enough for this system below: Mobo: Asus P5Q3 Deluxe/Wifi-AP ATX Mem: Kingston 8Gt (2x4096MB) 1066MHz CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz with passive Zalman CPU coole...

Thanks for the reply ilovejedd! Using a picoPSU surely is my plan. I'd only need to buy Car TFT's 150W picoPSU (CarTFT picoPSU-150-XT 12V DC-DC, actually) since, correct me if I am wrong here, I already have a power brick of my broken laptop. the games I play would be something like Company of Heroe...

Which one: Zotac H55-Itx or Zotac GF-9300?

Hello! Alright. I have bought a case, Spire Cube (it's Apex MI-008 though, just a different name) and now I have been wondering for awhile which mobo I should buy? I will use it mainly as webserver/HTPC/light gaming. I won't buy a graphics card for now but in the future it is an option. Now the ques...

What is your advice on this mini-itx build?

Hello, I am building a quiet, power mingy 24/7 system top be sit below my TV. My plans are to be able to use it for - some gaming (one thing is a must: Company of Heroes with good FPS :) - minor web designing / Photoshopping - sometimes movies in all ranges (DVD / Bluray) - small file server that's ...

Hiding HTPC in living room: what kind of case?

I was wondering what kind of case should I buy (or do I need a case at all?) for my HTPC system if I hide it in this kind of TV stand . It is not exactly like that but you get the idea. The system itself wouldn't be in the center of the stand but behind those "walls" and the back of the TV stand wou...

Silent HTPC with some gaming, what do you think?

Hi guys! A newbie here so bare with me :) I have decided to get rid of my desktop computer and build a silent, low power consumption HTPC which I'd also use for gaming every now and then. The games I play are most likely something between HoMM3 (yes! I still play it alot :)), Company of Heroes (quit...
