Re: Build report: home office with GIGABYTE GA-H170M-D3H
TRUE universal BTK adapter I wish I could get that where I live :( I have Thermalright HR-01 hidden deep in my treasure chest. I would like to use it with G860 cpu (socket 1155). Have you checked on amazon? https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-100700553-TRUE-universal-BTK/dp/B00UN05Q6A/ref=sr_1_1?ie...

Re: Riok's Quiet ATX Gaming build 2017, inspired by SPCR
Congrats for the build :) . Is not always easy to follow SPCR recommendations, one because the list is getting older/oudated ant two because some parts are not available worldwide. It seems for me you did a really good job. Concerning the GPU temps I would expect a lot less in such "cold" ambient te...

My quiet but warm rig, Bequiet Silent Base 800
My old computer was around 8 years old, starting to show the signs of age... The coolermaster case was very dusty and the lack of sata3 annoyed me so much, time to build a new one. Main System CPU: Intel i7 8700k (no OC yet) Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370 A Memory/RAM: 16GB, 2x DDR4 Crucial Ballistix ...

Re: Are Pure Wings 2 worth keeping it?
Thank thanks for the fast reply :D . Major factor that puts me forward into positive pressure is dust accumulation. I am near a avenue, and there's lots of dust coming in :x . Well pointed Steve. My rig is as it follows: CPU: i7-8700k (might overlock in the future) CPU Heatsink: Thermalright Ultra 1...

Are Pure Wings 2 worth keeping it?
Hello silent friends, I've just started my new build. My Silent Base 800 is currently on the way, trap somewhere in the post maze... With it, there will be two Pure Wings 2 140mm and one 120mm. My question is: are they worth keeping it? I thought about selling them (since Be Quite are hard to find i...

Re: Intel Core i3-2100 vs. AMD Phenom II X2 565
Nice review, Intel really getting the first position again. AMD has a lot to improve. However, in brazil Intel prices are higher: AMD Athlon II X2 265 3.3GHz - BR$ 194 AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition 3.3Ghz - BR$ 240 Intel Core i3 540 3.06Ghz - BR$ 304 Intel Core i3 2100 3.1Ghz - BR$ 369 While mo...

Unused cables can be a mess and a good bed for dust. Thats why I like modular PSU's.

Congrats fellow! Lianli makes everything much easier for sure... installing MOBO "outside" the case is way better.
Question: Did you remove the back (outer) grill/mesh ? Since the inned grill looks totally useless for me (on lianli site)

Re: Installing used CPU
Thanks quest_for_silence, I think I got the idea now, just put a little drop and the heatsink will spread when mounted.
But I wonder how deep in the surface will alcohol clean off the old paste. Many thanks everyone, I hope to post some pics very soon

Re: Installing used CPU
I see, first, many thanks for reply.
idale, wouldn't be possible to remover the CPU with heatsink all together ?
ces, you referring to the ArctiClean right? Hmm that seems to be hard to find around here, so i guess I'll go with isopropyl alcohol.

Re: My Troubleshooting with a new zbox and Sony TV
Thanks for your reply!
Well, dell runs a Windows 7 Home Premium x32, zbox is running x64 version. BUT, first time i turned on, nothing shown, not even zotac logo.
The video onboard for sure is different, I don't remember witch one is on dell but it's quite old one.

Remove fan to clean heatsink inplace (stock AM3)
Hello fellows, I bought this Phenom II X4 945 about an year ago, and it's full of dust on the heatsink. It must be clean, temperatures are rising and fan rpm also. However, I don't feel skilled atm to remove the heatsink it self and do the cpu cleaning, reappling thermal paste, etc, etc. So I though...
