I found this nice review here with a lot of common pastes:

Apparently Noctua pastes are not bad, but I believe in most cases, performance difference between TIM is negligible.

definitely not an excuse, I am as appalled by it as anyone else. What I meant was they made a disagreeable decision back then, and now they haven't reached the point of the product cycle where they can revision and implement the proper connectors. Re: SilverStone Raven RV03
for those wondering, RV03 came out back when internal usb 3.0 headers were relatively uncommon, probably in half the newer 1155 boards sold at the time. Like most other case makers at the time these chose to implement the extension setup. Later on, when internal headers became more common, the FT02/...

Re: Best Case for the Inevitable GTX 680
RV02 and FT02 can both fit the 5970 which is pretty long, I don't know the exact dimensions of a typical GTX680 but there is a fair chance that they will fit.
The good old P18x have removable drive cages so I'm pretty sure they can fit as well.

arctic cooling F-series fans aren't bad either, especially if you want to daisy chain pwm fans together

have you thought about getting a case with a load of 5.25 drives and add suspension so you can mount your 3.5 drives quietly?

Do you mean 1~1.5 mm ? I actually mean centimeters, that is from judging without using any measuring tools though. how about I just attach a picture? since I have no faith in my own gestimating skills :P http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/389b058ac6579c07e66f7624c23fc580824635fa80967c019c44389d7db...

Re: Silent case with decent ventilation for a casual gamer
others are the NZXT H2, silverstone RV02 (assuming FT02 is beyond your budget), fractal define R2/R3 (maybe the XL?) the H2 could use more airflow though, personally i'm waiting for a revision of H2 with improved intake the principles are the same replace the stock fans with PWM, either daisy chain ...

Re: Silent case with decent ventilation for a casual gamer
personally i would go for the P182, swap out all the case fans and CPU and replace with arctic cooling F12 PWM's, daisy chain them together so you can control them according to the CPU's temperature (most motherboard manufacturers offer this feature) other then that, as soon as your PSU and GFX fans...

interesting, having not kept in the pc upgrading game (havent done for a good few years) i had always assume/associated fans = moving parts = noise. despite my bias towards NVIDIA i am not that closed minded as some fanboys are, that new passive 6850 that is set to be released soon, looks promising...

Can you guys explain to me why you want PSU on the bottom? personally it isn't the top/bottom thing thats disappointing, it is more about the PSU not having its own air supply another thing is the fact that in motherboards where the CPU socket is near the edge of the PCB, large air coolers can get ...

Re: Top vs. bottom mounted PSU.
like others have said as long as the PSU's intake air isn't warmed by other components it should make no difference what so ever, other than the fact the whole system may appear a little bit top-heavy. I really like how in the RV02 and FT02 the PSU can draw air from the side opening, and expelled th...

Re: First Impressions: Arctic Cooling F12 PWM 120mm fans
Recently I bought a pair of AC F12 PWM as well.
comparing to my previous Slipstream Slim, there is much more airflow at lower noise levels.
Hooking them up to the pwm fan of my scythe katana makes them perfect
now the biggist noise source is my vx450

the slim fan (1200rpm at 12v) is running at around 700 rpm controlled by a zalman fanmate. Faster than that there will be a wooshing sound generated, which happens regardless of the type of fan (sounds worse with the tri cool). The tri cool that came with the case has started to click for some odd r...
