well if a PCS is quiet in a passive system, then it is quiet period :) The Vapor-x is an overclocked version of the Toxic, so it won't be quiet The site above has a review of the 5850 toxic http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/HD_4850_Toxic/25.html Pretty sure its the other way around. The T...

I did some extra 'testing' as well, and these vapor-X coolers are truly excellent performers. I played Assassins Creed for several hours today (I'm no real gamer, I was exploring Jeruzalem and Acre because I'm a history teacher who tries to find exciting ways to teach children...) and the results w...

As I expected with the way too many transistors for 40nm plus the 384bit memory bus. Edit; Listen to the cards: http://hardocp.com/article/2010/03/26/nvidia_fermi_gtx_470_480_sli_review/7  The first time I watched those videos I almost threw up. Graphics card makers need to get a control of ...

Are there any high wattage (850+) quiet PSUs out there?
Hi, Im looking for a modular PSU that can power a gaming system (which may be louder than any PSU) that is quiet. The Corsair 850HX seems pretty popular, and its website has an unscientific graph showing it remains at about 23dba until it uses nearly all of its wattage up, then it goes to about 33db...

5. Does that all make sense to you? Mostly, except "I would propose that you start off with a single fan on the CPU cooler. On the Noctua I would favor a Nexus. Just because I suspect that Nexus can handle pressure a bit better than Slipstream and I suspect that the Noctua generates more back press...

Which fans for a P182 case and noctua D14
Hi, I'm starting to get the final details down on my next purchase and right now I need to decide what fans to get. I would like to be as quiet as possible and keep my computer stable, with the warm but not blazingly hot. I have an Antec P182 case. I am going to get a Core i7 CPU of some sort, and t...

Thank you for your help. I guess I just need to be told which one to get, I'm having difficulty choosing between those options. A Noctua D14 with Nexus fans, or the HR-01 with an air duct (something I have never done before) seems to be the two choices here? How much better does the noctua cool the...

I'm getting a Core i7 cpu, possibly the 920 version. I do not want to overclock it. I want it to be stable, and quiet. If it can be stable and not idle at very high temperatures so I can rest easy at night, that would be a bonus too. Price isn't a concern. So far I have heard mentioned a few times:...

is the noctua d14 the quietest (unmodded at least) i5/i7 cooler to date? I want a cooler for an I7 machine that I don't want to overclock, I just want it stable as as quiet as I can get. It's not that quiet. If you want quiet, get a Thermalright HR-01 plus and add a 500 rpm fan. Or maybe a nexus ru...

Prolimatech Megahalems (get the rev. B for 1156 compatibility), or Noctua D14 if price isn't a concern. If you get this one, replace the stock case fan with the 12cm Noctua you get and use the heatsink with the lone middle 14cm fan and you're good to go with one hell of a quiet machine. is t...
