The efficiency is insane, however so is the price. I guess with no competition though it's kinda expected the price will be high.
I'd probably pick one of these up in a year or two when the price drops to $70 or $80 when competition is stronger. That is unless something better shows up.

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT03 microATX Tower
Black one looks a lot better than the silver/white combo.

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT03 microATX Tower
Looks like a dirty clothes hamper. Not a fan of the design at all.

Dell Professional P2411H 24 inch
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-9327 I picked up this monitor and have been using it a couple days. Thought some would be interested here since this monitor is LED and sips power (EPEAT Gold). Highest brightness (100) it pulls 22w from the wall, de...

Re: HTPC high power usage when OFF
Freeco I have the same board and processor with a Corsair VX450 and doing a complete shutdown the computer uses 1 watt from the wall. If using the standby feature it uses 3 watts. Not sure but could be your mobo or possibly PSU. I have some older PSU's that when shut down use around 4 to 5 watts but...

MSI H55M-E33 power consumption with BIOS 1.8
I just tried BIOS 1.8 on my MSI H55M-E33 and the power consumption is whack on my i3 530. It idles a full 10-11 watts higher with BIOS 1.8 looking at my Kill-A-Watt. Even the CPU is hotter during idle about 5 degrees Celsius. This is with optimized BIOS defaults with just a few tweaks, so there is s...

I went back and forth between the Athlon II 240 and i3 530 and ended up going with i3 but for slightly different reasons. I tend to keep a system till it's almost unusable then upgrade, so I went with i3 because I felt it would have longer legs than the Athlon II as time marched on. The i3 does have...

Thanks for this review! I've been looking around for an ATX PSU that would bring my i3 530 down into the ~25w range and this unit looks like it might be a winner. Right now I'm using an overpowered Corsair VX450 which idles around 32w which is ok, but not optimal. Looks like I won't have to mod the ...

I put together MSI H55M-E33 + i3 530 with 4GB (2x2GB) 1.5v rated Corsair RAM, oldish NEC DVD-RW drive (IDE), Samsung EcoGreen 1TB, and my idle power consumption with an overpowered VX450 Corsair PSU was consistently 32w. When I would step away for 5 minutes or so it would dip to 31w and occasionally...
