Re: DIY Temperature Controlled Case Fan Controller Design
With a lot more searching, finding nothing worthwhile, and with considerable thought, I’d like to suggest this hardware/software combination: http://www.mellen.biz/fancontroller/ Do you want to automatically adjust your fan speeds based upon case temperature(s), and/or want some more fan headers of ...

Re: DIY Temperature Controlled Case Fan Controller Design
After realizing I’m over my head w/respect to the electronics but knowing the desired functionality and a good UI …. Here is my dream hardware and software fan control design for some entrepreneur … A Microprocessor controlled mini-board that doesn’t take even a small low profile internal 3.5” bay –...

Re: DIY Temperature Controlled Case Fan Controller Design
I've also just run across http://geoffg.net/fancontroller.html and will look into further. Has anyone heard of this DIY kit before? And has anyone seen a [nicely] pre-made Y cable that allows red/black power from a PSU molex, a female plug w/just yellow speed-monitoring wire to connect to a 3pin or ...

Re: DIY Temperature Controlled Case Fan Controller Design
Ahhhh… but the swordsman died. I would like to see if someone would design us swordsmen the tool to defeat the gun holders and those that carry 'heat', being used to oppress us. Mere quiet fans set at a low voltage will keep us enslaved. I want to be free… I like my Gelid Tranquillo cooler - it keep...

DIY Temperature Controlled Case Fan Controller Design
I’m pretty much disappointed in my motherboard’s and case’s ability to keep the case fans as quiet as possible, given my varying room temperature and varying heat being generated. Fan controllers I see seem to be more about bling and constant user attention. Temperature Controlled fans often aren’t ...

Cooler & fan control
There isn't much I can do in BIOS. I can see the fan speed, enable/disable Q-fan, see the voltages and set min. and max. temperature. I tried PC Probe II as well, unfortunately no solution. It monitors everything without problems, but I can't do anything about the fan speed. The treshold was 600rpm...

There are newer fans such as the Scythe Slip Stream 120mm with adjustable PWM (SY1225SL12HPVC) which offer another solution to controlling PWM fans. This fan comes with a PCI slot controller, and allows the PWM band to be set between Low and High. It is continuously variable, and on Low gives an id...

Asus Fan Xpert
These temps look really good. Do you think that lapping would help me a lot too? i7 + Megahelms + S-Flex @ 1200RPM now + IC Diamond + Raven, no ducts so far Prolimatech guys claim that the base of their heatsink matches IHS surface, but I don't really know how good it is and IHS lapping sounds a li...

Does ASUS’s Fan Xpert work for you? – Please let us know
I’ve been looking for a software PWM fan speed solution for my Asus motherboard, Antec case,… where I’ve tried a few PWM CPU fans, and couple PWM case fans, with both SpeedFan and Fan Xpert trying to reasonably control them… Fan Xpert is about 80% there and friendly, has great potential, BUT...
