SPCR review for the 500W Enermax Modu87+ I built a PC a few months ago from the advice on this forum. My father now wants me to build a quiet/silent PC for him, after seeing mine :D . The only comment I would have about mine is that the power supply fan is always audible (when ordering, I decided t...

My chosen motherboard spec stats that it can control fan speeds. Do I need to buy a program and thermometer to be able to see and control this aspect? Does this only control the fan speeds of the PSU, or does it extend to the case fans? PSU - Enermax Modu87+ 500W Motherboad - Gigabyte P55-UD6 Thanky...

Sound card

I am currently looking at the Gigabyte P55 UD6 motherboard.

Is it worth buying a new soundcard?

How many monitors at what resolution? How parallel are the programs you are using (will they benefit from quad core)? There will be two monitors both having a resolution of 1920x1200. The programs will be run simultaneously so they will benefit from quad core. What's your current platform? My curre...

Building a silent PC to be used for design programs

I will try to keep this brief. I am going to be building a silent PC, its main purpose will be to run design and graphics programs such as Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Autocad and Solidworks (not interested at all in gaming for this computer). My budget, there is none. Although if a new model is on...
