You can roll a DIY with some cardboard. That's what people here have been/are doing, since before the P18X had it built in. =] You mean just cutting a piece of cardboard and using tape or something to separate the CPU and the power supply so the power supply is not pulling in hot air from the CPU? ...

Cases with separated area for power supply?
Hello.
I was wondering if anyone knows which cases have separate area for the power supply so it won't pull in heat from other areas of the case?
I think the Antec P183 does this but I was just wondering if maybe there was something less expensive.
Thanks

OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP vs Earthwatts 500
Hi. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the OCZ ModXStream Pro ( OCZ500MXSP) I was going to get the earthwatts 500 ( EA500) but I heard that there are some issues of a buzzing, hum, wining noise that comes from some of them. I have ready that the OCZ ModXStream Pro is quiet but that is...

Re: How would you build a networked AV Server
So I am looking to build a NAS with 1. DLNA/UPnP AV server 2. Raid 0/1 JBOD support 3. Decent network thruput. 4. Low power use. I'm thinking Intel Atom with nVidia Ion platform This is to replace a D-Link DNS-321. After four days of working on it, I'm throwing in the towel. On paper it looked grea...

the solo looks good, and it is solidy built, but it's an obsolete design, get something more modern. the solo that i had wouldn't allow for inspecting the 92mm air filters for dust accumulation, because there was no door there, you have to remove the side panel to unsnap the front panel... it's an ...

Re: Which case would be the best value yet also quiet?
The Solo does look kind of small to work with. Small in what way? Because you want to put a long graphic card in it? Or need a lot of drive bays? I want to use standard size graphic card and I don't need a lot of bays. I actually really wanted this case to work but I am afraid that it will overheat...

Is the Solo too small for my build? ( heat issues?)
The solo looks like a perfect case for me except I think it might be too cramp and tiny to have any serious hardware and might be too hot. If they are aware that this small case causes overheating issues, why not make it slightly larger so everyone is happy. Am I going to have issue if I use this co...

Which case would be the best value yet also quiet?
Hi.
The Solo does look kind of small to work with. What other cases might offer more room, dampen sound of the box and be a good value for the money?
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
Thanks.

Is watercooling quieter than fan cooled?
Is water cooling quieter than fan cooled or is it mostly for the coolness factor of having it water cooled?
My understanding is they both need a fan. One way its a fan to cool the heat sink and the other way its a fan to cool the water.
Please let me know
Thanks.

Any Free offsite backups?
Hi.
Are there any free off site back locations( maybe advertisement supported) ?
Is there a list of quiet NAS systems?
I can tell you the original readynas NV ( from infrant) has a crazy noisy power supply that sounds like an car engine dying.
THanks

What recommendations do you have for a quiet monitor or do you know what monitors to avoid?
