Re: ASUS F2A85-M Pro microATX FM2 Motherboard
Video quality. CA_Steve, Yep, that's the report I read. BUT, all their testing was quantitative (HQV, dropped frames, etc.). They never sat back and said, "Hmmm, all the numbers are there and on our <awesome HDTV> the image looks <awesome, great, OK, horrible, turn the dog around/shave it's rear/ha...

Re: ASUS F2A85-M Pro microATX FM2 Motherboard
I haven't seen any one do any reviews on the quality of the video that is produced by these new chips. I think I read that they do OK with rendering the various frame rates and digital audio, but what about how good the video looks. I know the latter can be a bit subjective, but I know you guys have...

What about video quality. I've read a couple reviews from different sites but no one has yet to see how well it actually renders video. I remember when some of the earlier ATI cards came out they were horrible. Then after a couple driver updates they really began to shine. nVidia has always been beh...

Re: Logic Supply LGX AG150 Fanless Mini PC
What version of HDMI is the port? 1.2, 1.3, 1.4? I wish reviewers of all sites (not just here) would remember to include that information. Then we don't have to hunt around the net trying to find it. Even vendors of motherboard expect us consumers to know what the capabilities of teh chipsets provide.

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6670 Budget GPUs
Yes, that is the card I got. Believe it or not, up until this point (i.e. the installation of this card) everything was fine. Never a problem. The fans at the back are actually very quiet, although they are wired to 5V I think. I had thought about rewiring them to run at 7 or 12v. Even with the acti...

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6670 Budget GPUs
dhanson865, thanks for the reply. yeah, I already bought it all from the egg, so I could return it, but... everything is in a Thermaltake Mozart Media Lab. The video card is the HIS 6570 Silent. Before that, it was an AMD 2600XT with a fan. All was good except I wanted the HDMI 1.4 out. As I said, I...

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6670 Budget GPUs
well, so I have had the card in for about 3-1/2 months and had some problems. The HTPC has a megabit connection and is networked to a server with a gigabit jack and on a gigabit network. I think that with the new card's capabilities it tries to get info quicker than the network chip on the HTPC boar...

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6670 Budget GPUs
I purchased the HIS 6570 silent. I hope to install it. the only concern I have is airflow. It will be installed in a Thermaltake Motzart case. There are two small fans in the back and one 3.5" in the front of the case. Hopefully that'll keep things cool I'll post system specs and results by Sunday....

can the HDMI handle HDCP properly? What about TrueDTS and bitstreaming other hi-def audio? What about 3D?
Basically, version of HDMI is it?

Re: HDPLEX H3.SODD Fanless Mini-ITX Media Case
My issue is the HDMI out. Since the options use a 785 mobo, the HDMI is limited to maybe v1.3 or 1.2. On the website, the intel chipset is the H55, which also has an older HDMI output.

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6570 & 6670 Budget GPUs
Oh please please please review this product quickly before I buy it: http://www.hisdigital.com/un/product2-617.shtml I like the 6450 because it is silent, but it lacks a bit of horsepower. If the HIS silent version is as good as the AMD reference boards then I will get it yesterday. But why is it on...

Re: Zotac H67-ITX: Sandy Bridge on Mini-ITX
So this board has an HDMI 1.4a connector. Did you all test to see if it can really transfer digital audio? - I.e. the HDCP handshake between the computer and a receiver or TV with an HDMI 1.4 plug. Did you test it with 3D movie content? - You all didn't even mention if the high bitrate video you all...

Re: AMD & Asus DirectCU Radeon HD 6850 Graphics Cards
I wish when people reviewed these cards they would include which version of the HDMI standard is implemented. Also, it would be great if someone tried using it on a their TV or A/V system. I think many who read SPCR are interested in HTPC applications so it would be a bonus to have it on this site. ...

Re: Silent Home Server Build Guide
How about drilling a bunch of 1/4" holes in the front panel? If you drill them from the outside of the panel, inward then the observer would not see any chips from the drill bit going through and/or the use of a chamfering tool to remove the chips. You could then use simple black spray paint (again ...

Re: Zotac IONITX-P-E CULV Motherboard
The one thing that is always missing from the MOBO specs is what verion of HDMI is used. if MOBO vendors used that spec and conformed to it then we (the users) would easily know if the HDMI supported digital sound over HDMI and even 3D.
Does anyone know if this is v1.2, 1.3, or v1.4?
