I just got this card for a new build. The noise isn't bad, not that great either. The fan running at 40% (default) is more or less equivalent to an stock fan running at medium (slightly louder than a nexus at full speed) or a 7200 hard drive. Noticeable but not terrible. That said, it's the loudest ...

Re: Is 400W PSU enaugh for my new i5 750 system?
It should be fine. I've been looking at building almost the exactly same system (the MSI m-atx board & 2 hd as the only differences.) The 5750 pulls about 14W Idle 85W full load. from the SPCR Review of the I5 you're looking at about 108W max on the i5 so your system draw at peak load is going to be...

Need M-atx system advice
My old socket 939 board finally gave up the ghost this summer so I replaced it with a 775 Core 2 Duo board. It's a m-atx system built for light gaming. No problem. Have housed everything in a Coolermaster 541 for a few years now and love the case. No big deal, I was going to keep everything as it is...

Re: patenting your cases and/or mods...
do you guys ever think that companies might just come through our gallery section and steal our ideas? Well, that's how case lighting, drive suspension products, built in windows, LED screens, rounded cables, watercooling and quite a few other things came into the mainstream. It's not terribly unus...

Yes. It's also easy to put them back in. Most computer rivets are 1/8" so all you need is a drill and a 1/8" bit. I had more of an issue getting the spare parts of the rivet off of the bit than drilling anything out (pliers or vise-grips are helpful.) If you don't want/can't replace them with screws...

The best you can expect out of dampening is a marginal improvement. Brown Bread/Dynamat/Roofers Tape is good for dampening in an aluminum or thin steel case. It basically gives you the same effect as having bought a thick steel case to begin with. I had dynamat in a Lian-Li PC60 and then moved to an...

I'm using the 541 and haven't found anything to be wobbly. If you were looking at a display model, those get beat up pretty quickly. I would have never bought an Antec case judging by the shape the display models at MicroCenter are in, however a new one just out of the package is something different...

The case can be made quiet and it is a decent base for a smaller system. I'll see what I can do about pictures but here are my system specs: AMD 64-3200 Venice core XP-120 with Nexus 120mm fan @5V 4X 512 PC 3200 DDR Ram MSI RS480M2-IL Socket 939 2x Panaflo L1A soft mounted with EAR grommets, control...

I have the CM and it seems like there would be about 1-1.5 cm clearance with the bare Ninja. I don't have a Ninja to test it out on though (my XP-120 is doing just fine.) I've been meaning to rebuild my system to duct the exhaust out, but haven't managed to get around to it. Decent cable routing is ...

Great tip. It's one of those things that make you go DOH because it's smart and simple at the same time. I've been using cds for a template for 120mm fans for years but I've never put 2&2 together. I think the 100 cd ones would be perfect for most situations as you can cut an angle on both ends and ...

I'm not sure. I have the same motherboard and the same issue. If I turn off the CPU fan and just go from the case fans, it goes up to 118C. Other than that it hangs out at 113 load or not. I'm guessing it may be the northbridge temp. I've been debating taking the heatsink off and replacing it with t...

You may want to try the enermax PSU before you switch as they're a pretty reputable brand. The Seasonic is pretty quiet but you may want a fan swap to a Nexus or something as well. I know that I build with what I've got and work on what I'm not satisfied with in any new system. Having used several o...

There was one silverstone floating around for a while there, but I think it's off the market now. I got one and it had issues (it's my future HTTPC case). I was looking at the Enermax before I bought the Coolermaster and I got hung up on the PSU. In looking at it now, it's a standard m-atx PSU so yo...

Probably a little over optimistic. But as I said before, it all depends on what you put in there. There are side mounted drive cases that take 80mm fans but you will need to be very very careful about the system you put in there. If you have onboard video and an undervolted cpu most smaller cases ar...

It is relatively big (still small compared to an ATX case). I chose to sacrifice a bit on the size for airflow (it has dual 80mm exhaust and a 120mm intake). My personal issues with the vertical drives are: 1. The small width usually only allows for 60mm fans which are loud no matter how much you sl...

You might also want to check out the coolermaster 540-541.
I've had quite a few micro atx cases and this is the only one I've really liked.

As far as pics go, I lost my camera when I moved so I can't take pictures. I'll post some when I can. I got the case from Newegg. I just finished the system today and I like it alot. I have the m-axt version. I haven't done much thorough testing, but it's well built (unike quite a few m-axt cases). It's definitely solid. All the edges are rolled so I only had one scraped finger (a big deal for me since I have large hands and h...

Don't feel bad, most of us have done something silly to our systems at one time or another. I'd much rather it be the mobo than the chip. In my time building personal systems (just for me & friends & family), I've burnt out 1 chip, cracked 2 (early Athlons were a complete pain to mount the heatsink ...
