Thanks for post. Couldn't find anything googling "standby mode". You know how to enable this or is it enabled by default?

help with home entertainment center cooling

Been researching cooling solutions for my home entertainment center. Picture attached at bottom, not the same entertainment center but close. The entertainment center is broken up into two sections. On the left side I have a audio system and an xbox360. On the right side I have the Uverse DVR, a Blu...

Re: supermicro CSE-510T-200B

I should have been more specific, my apologies. I am putting an Atom board in the case, a SuperMicro X7SPE-HF-D525. The chassis will be located in the living in a cabinet I modified (cut the back out of). It is located near the entertainment center so I that is the reason I wanted to replace the sto...

fan/power supply replacement

Airflow in the superMicro CSE-502L-200B chassis is pretty terrible. Doesn't cool very well it can be noisy at times.

Any recommendations for a fan addition, replacement, or suggestion on how to quiet the fan and get better airflow in the 502L-200B chassis?

need help determining replacement 80mm fan for ISK300-65

Hello all, looking to buy a Antec ISK 300-65 case and read that the fan tends to be loud. I found two fans that were recommended: Noctua NF-R8 80mm Fan 2-Pack http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NF-R8-80mm-Fan-2-Pack/dp/B001QYLOA4/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311954837&sr=1-5 ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm C...

Re: recommend fan for cisco 891

I have the 891 installed on my desk, and it was an upgrade from the fanless 871 so I can definitely notice the fan noise. I was afraid the noise would be a problem. You recommend another L3 Ciso device that is fanless? I can't seem to find one that is comparable to the 891. I was looking at the 181...

Re: recommend fan for cisco 891

Ooo-boy, that looks like a 40mm fan? Small fans like that are nearly impossible to replace with a similar fan and be any quieter, or be enough cooling. They are simply so small they have to spin like crazy to move any air at all. The only thing I can think of is to put the Cisco unit in a larger ca...

Re: recommend fan for cisco 891

Neil, that is a great observation and question. I found a spec sheet awhile back where it lists the noise as 32 dba but problem is that I can no longer find that spec sheet. Been asking around the cisco forum and can't get a definite answer on it. Checked the spec sheet at cisco and it doesn't say e...

Re: recommend fan for cisco 891

Welcome to SPCR, I'm not familiar with a Cisco 891 -- can you post a picture and / or the fan size? Thanks for reply Neil. I wish I could provide the fan size and type. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the information online. This is for a device I have not purchased yet because I am not...

recommend fan for cisco 891

Wondering is anyone has experience with fan hardware inside 891? Has anyone replace the stock fan and if so, what did you replace it with?

Thanks.
