Re: How to get cooler below 30%

Thanks lodesta, that cleared up my inquietude. I wanted to know that before having to buy a card, because here in Argentina you can't return a card so easy, so when you buy something there is no going back. I'll have to see when the card arrives and make the modifications to the BIOS. As I'm going t...

Re: How to get cooler below 30%

Thanks lodestar for the detailed reply.
Your last part wasn't clear to me. It can be that setting the fan profile dutty below 30% make no difference in lowering the RPM? so there is a low RPM value that is hardcoded that can't be modified?

Re: How to get cooler below 30%

Excellent, thanks for the info and the links. I'm aware of what can happen with a bad flash, but it's something that I have to deal with if a problem occurs. I already had my Geforce 260 GTX core 216 flashed for lower fan speed on idle, but now I'm planning to update my card and wanted to know if it...

Re: How to get cooler below 30%

Hi Mats, thanks for the reply, I knew about Kepler BIOS Editor and followed your links, but it's still unclear to me if someone could get a modified BIOS's fan profile to work below 30%.

Hi franzl88,
Could you modify your BIOS to get lower fan speeds?

Re: Adjust fan profile from BIOS on 6870 MSI/Saphire posible

tanassi, thanks for your reply!

I thought I read somewhere that the fan RPMs in silent mode of the MSI card where around the 1300 number or something like that.

Someone else could flash a non reference 6870 with a modified fan profile successfully?

Adjust fan profile from BIOS on 6870 MSI/Saphire posible?

Hi Everyone! I wanted to ask the owners of non reference Radeon 6870 cards, in particularly to those who have for example Saphire Radeon 6870, Saphire Radeon 6870 Vapor-X, MSI 6870 Hawk and MSI 6870 Twin Frozr II if you could adjust the fan profile of the card via a modified BIOS with succes?, becau...

Re: Most silent Radeon 6850? (excluding PowerColor passive)

Hi Bradshaw, thanks for you advice. I'm considering the MSI Cyclone as a first option and the Sapphire 6580 ( non reference ) as a second option. The MSI R6870 Twin Frozr II looks good, but I haven't found it here, only the Hawk variant, but it cost almost one hundred dollars more, equaling the pric...

Most silent Radeon 6850? (excluding PowerColor passive)

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the board. :) I need to buy a new VGA card for my sister's computer and I wanted to know by using your expertise which of the cards in the following list are the most silent: SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Cro...
