I recently purchased a Samsung T260HD, and have noticed a faint humming/buzzing/whine whenever the brightness is set to 91 or less. 92 or higher and its silent. Its weird why it makes a noise at a certain brightness level. I've never had this with any of my previous LCD monitors. Setting the bright...

Fumble, Have you tried reducing the brightness within Windows GFX drivers? Catalyst Control Center on my ATI 4870 lets me reduce the brightness - if it wasn't for that i would be at a loss. It is fine now. the only issue is if I ever connect a non PC item via HDMI I won't have that control, but that...

Samsung SyncMaster 2494HS Pretty much silent as long as brightness above 88. This is a problem as its a VERY bright screen, so I adjusted brightness in software on my 4870 instead to about -65 (equivalent of 45 on screen). Now its OK. Below 88 the whine is terrible, no way - no way. Sounds worse th...

Well ... just got a replacement for my dead Phantom 350 .... and they replaced it with a brand new Phantom 500! (Antec netherlands>> UK) I am taking this as a strong indicator that the 350 line is discontinued due to a fault throughout the line. I would not recommend the 350 series to anyone myself....

After further useage of this case I can say the following: Not quiet by silent pc enthusiast standards, though quiet compared to the majority of desktops. Hard drive seek noise appears to be amplified. (maybe i am used to a decoupled HDD?) Older CDROm drives which are longer than ususal are a tight ...

I just recieved one of these today in the UK. (£45 incl. VAT) Not had chance to test properly yet but the 92mm fan is very quiet - from what i can hear over the server room here at work. Once I get it home I will be able to do more testing. The build and design are excellent - have had previous expe...

Stock models at www.dabs.com as Aopen branded units. 300w and 350w versions - however these are the "noisier" PFC versions i think.

FSP Aurora ((FSP300-60PN(PF)B)
FSP Aurora ((FSP300-60PN(PF)B) I can buy this for about £60 inc. delivery here in the UK. It is basically a FSP300-60PN(PF) with a blue LED fan and a fan speed control Pot on the back. However I can't find any reviews of it. The specs state that it is under 20db under nominal load. Presumably this i...

Yeah i saw that ..... pretty heavy duty! Yes come to think of it the enermax IS pretty weedy in that respect. I will try mounting the L1A outside the case this weekend, tho I would rather it was all inside. One modification i nearly did was to: 1. Remove all fans from PSU 2. Attach 80mm - 120mm adap...

SilenX or Modded Enermax w. Panaflo
Okay at the moment I have a 2 year or so old Enermax 350w PSU, currently modded with a 12v L1A. The 92mm hole is taped up. I have been warned about running at 7v, at which voltage it is quiet but has a lot of hot exhaust. To me the heatsinks looked fairly large on my Enernmax. What I am just trying ...

The thing with pc noise is that its a continuous drone or hum. At least input device noise is erratic. But its true - my compaq keyboard is noisy as hell if I am trying to sleep and someone is tapping away ...... my laptop keyboard i am using now is nice - similar to the excellent apple keyboard. Ac...

I will certainly try putting the panaflo on the outside when i get a chance. I may even use another 80mm bracket to make a small extension for it. Shame i dont have any of those funny blue rubber pegs instead of screws. i think ez2remember used foam ..... was that just packing foam? Also re: ducting...

I think my PSU is an EG365P-VE. I got it about 2 years ago ... this was before all the other silent PSUs came out - would this be a "non-OEM" model? Strange thing is I could not for the life of me find the thermoresistor inside it. I have blocked the 92mm hole wih 2 layers of brown parcel tape. Not ...
