Re: Corsair RM Series intro'd

I took a chance on the Corsair RM 750 and it's practically silent. It's quieter than my previous PSU, a Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W. I assume this is because I'm not exceeding the 40% load of the Corsair and the fan's not spinning up. At the same time I replaced my MSI graphics card with an Asu...

Re: Low frequency noise after changing case

In the end, it turned out to be a PCI network card I'd installed. It was too close to the Graphic's Card fans which I think caused the noise I was hearing. Removed the card and changed back to onboard networking and the noise has gone - and hopefully for good this time! Sorry for posting this thread...

Re: Low frequency noise after changing case

Just an update - I'm going ahead with the PSU RMA as I stopped the fan on the Power Supply and that seemed to stop the noise. It was just hard pinning down the sound as it was low frequency in nature but, after eliminating everything else, all that was left was the Power Supply. However, I think I'm...

Low frequency noise after changing case

Hi, I've just moved to a new case, from an Antec P183 to a Corsair 550D. Everything's gone fine except I can now hear a very quiet, low frequency noise like a fan slowly revving or case vibration. It's not a loud noise but because my other components are so quiet (SSDs, low noise fans) it's quite no...

Re: bequiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W Power Supply

Do you have any control over those fans or is their RPM linked to the internal PSU temperature? No, unfortunately, the RPM seems regulated by the PSU temperature with no control over them, but the controllers seem to do a good job (the SPCR review has a good section on this). Before I was using 12 ...

Re: bequiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W Power Supply

I've just replaced a Seasonic X-650 with the Dark Power Pro 10 550W. I did this because I've tried to quieten all sources of noise in my PC: changed hard-drives to 5400rpm ones, bought a quiet graphics card and used slipstream fans in my case. Yet I was left with a dull humming noise which I couldn'...
