Is the noise difference between the 980ti and the 980 noticeable on MSI and Asus cards when under gaming load? Is it worth going Ti from a noise perspective?
Thanks

Don't spend money until you have isolated the graphics card fan as being the culprit. You are at huge risk of wasting money by doing this. Just stop the fan gently with your finger and see how the noise changes. Ok, I'll try that tonight when it's quiet and I can hear the thing properly. I'm reluct...

Re: Video card making high pitched annoying noise. Want bett
I don't know, I have a seasonic PSU. I hope I don't have to replace that. Anyway, since I think it's probably the graphic card and I wouldn't mind to do some gaming from time to time, i'm going to get a gaming card that shuts off the fans. I don't want to waste 2 slots with that arctic heat-sink as ...

I don't know how to underclock that card. I think the fan would be running the same speed anyway because it is on the min setting and i can still hear that annoying high frequency sound at idle. I've tried TweakGPU but that doesn't work as the card changes fan speeds despite what you set there. That...

Video card making high pitched annoying noise. Want better.
Hi. I have finished building my six core xeon build, but I detect an annoying whiny noise. I believe it could be the business graphics card as all my other fans are large and slow moving. The fan is small and runs at 2000 rpm +. Even at idle i can hear that high pitched sound. The card is the Nvidia...

Re: Problem wiring case fans to motherboard-need help (fract
So, Is Voltage Control adequate for case fans or will PWM control be better? Voltage and PWM control are just different, there isn't a "better" one: there are just good or bad fans, either PWM or voltage controlled ones. Those stock FD GP2 fans are good sounding 3 pin ones, so apparently there's no...

Re: Problem wiring case fans to motherboard-need help (fract
Had to do a search for the other thread where you name the motherboard...Asus Deluxe WS X99. The 4 pin motherboard headers will be labeling something like: + / Gnd / sensor / PWM in your manual. Your three pin fan plugs will fit onto the + / Gnd / sensor part of the header. Go into your UEFI's (BIO...

Re: Problem wiring case fans to motherboard-need help (fract
What is the best way to set this up? With reference to an ATX board, 3 pin fans are mechanically compatible with 4 pin fan headers (they are keyed the same way). So hook up those Fractal fans to the relevant motherboard headers, then run into the UEFI and change the headers control to DC mode. Even...

Problem wiring case fans to motherboard-need help (fractal)
Hi, With my new Fractal Define R5 build, I'm having problems figuring out the best way to connect the case fans. The motherboard has 4 pin male case fan headers, and the stock Fractal case fans have 3 pin female connectors. I would like to have motherboard software control the fan speed for quietnes...

Re: Quietest CPU cooling for Xeon Haswell-E 6 core build?
Hi. Thanks for your help. I'll probably go with the D15 then. Do you know if I could go with one fan without risking overheating the CPU? Regarding the GPU, It can sustain 4 monitors at 4K resolutions. I plan to get another for 8 monitors as I do stock trading. I have not found a passive card that c...

Re: Quietest CPU cooling for Xeon Haswell-E 6 core build?
I see. Thanks. So, the Kraken is listed on top of the table but is not considered quiet even when you use the fan setup that the review mentions? Is the Genesis or something else worth it then over the D15? I want the quietest CPU solution possible for the Xeon. I can easily return the D15 since it ...

Quietest CPU cooling for Xeon Haswell-E 6 core build?
I am building a PC with a Xeon E5-1650 v3 6 Core CPU (3.5ghz). What is the best way to cool it as quietly as possible? I would hope to get in the low 20 db range overall or less (approaching a mac pro). I will be using statistical analysis and music creation software, I probably won't be doing much ...
