Re: Fan suggestions for Fractal R5
Current setup is using a nanoxia deep silence 2 with the stock fans the fans are rattling a ton (which is fine if I replaced them) but I'm doing a new build and wanted a different case for the theme. Also the usb ports are all dead for some reason and it's out of warranty. I don't really need a new ...

Re: Fan suggestions for Fractal R5
The system will be 6700k aiming for decent overclock (4.6 minimum really) + 980 ti everything else is really irrelevant. The goal is for it to maintain basically the same sound signature from idle to load. I understand you can have them at very low rpms during idle and then pick up when temps start ...

Fan suggestions for Fractal R5
Hello! I'm building a new pc soon in a fractal r5. I've been wondering what the best solution is. I've read that the stock fans are decent but maybe not the absolute best. I was thinking of getting three fans (2 front 1 rear) to replace them. What do you think would be the best option? I've been mai...

Re: Phantek f140hp vs noctua s12a
I've still got about a month and a half before I can physically build the system so hopefully the silent wings 3 will be available for comparison at that time. From your suggestions it seems like a PWM splitter is the way to go. I don't necessarily need a super versatile PWM system as I'd probably j...

Re: Phantek f140hp vs noctua s12a
As I started researching this I learned more about PWM applications. I didn't realize it was so versatile/powerful. I was looking at this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128841 and PWM is something the stock fans don't support and PWM control seems to be the clea...

Re: Phantek f140hp vs noctua s12a
They're attached to a fan controller. I've got them at about 7v I'd say where they're quiet but at full blast they don't exactly whine but it's not just moving air either. It's loud enough that I can clearly tell the computer is on even when things are happening in the room. My gpu is the loudest th...

Phantek f140hp vs noctua s12a
I'm going to be getting a fractal R5 soon and have been considering replacing the stock fans that come with it. I have a noctua d14 heatsink and wanted to 2 intake fans on the front, an exhaust on the back and then 2 fans on the heatsink. The actual default fans on the heatsink are kind of loud tbh ...
