wow been a long time since I got my first samsung 1614C 160gb from um directron I think...... nidec was the only motor at the time afaik. The choice of drive was rare and hard to get at the time but this site told me it was worth waiting for. SPCR wins again. Just got another one for backup from new...

I've been building systems for friends/family based on the BQE. I chose the case based at first entirely on Ralf's reviews. Since that first one, the rest are From my respects for the first one. I've used about 5 300 watter spi's.... I've been pushing out about 10 pc's all based on a the fortron/sparkle 300 or 350 60pn, the asus a7n8x (basic and deluxe) and barton 2500+ cpus over the last few months for friends and family. been using the zalman alcu 7000 whenever the case allows and thermal...

I picked up a 3700BQE from directron for a friend and swapped out the stock psu with a fortron 300 watt 120mm fan thing for like $28. The total cost for the preferred psu was actually cheaper than stock and I have no doubt the person that swapped it out what thinking WTF when he saw I was opting for...

All their talk about near silent operation... yet they are using WD hard drives and antec 430 watt psu's.

The case looks really nice though.

the antec 3700 BQE is a great case if you can swap out to psu for the 300 watt 120mm psu. I know directron will switch out the psu. Amd is the way to go for cheap... a 1800+ or even an 2500+ are very affordable and very solid cpus. a good asus nforce 1 or 2 board is cheap and the zalman alcu 7000 is...

ralf is pretty much the vanguard of the semi reform overclockers' movement. People that see the light with regards to silent computing but don't mind a 3 decible tradeoff for another 66 mhz fsb! Ralf is prolly personally responsible for hundreds of BQE's getting sold. Been seeing more and more overc...

To call the macmaster site "very confusing" is much akin to calling a high end sport bike "kinda quick". One psu missing on the list is the plain jane spakle/fortron 120mm fan based non pfc power suppiles, 300 or 350 watts. The list has the aurora listed but blue lights from a psu is a bad thing in my book. I've used both the 300 and 350 in many systems and all are quiet and have never posed any proble...

One of my favorite odd-ball sites (no, spcr is by no means odd-ball in my book) is Dans Data. His range of interests from AFV's (um tanks!) to esoteric gadgets are always entertaining, especially when combined with his dark sense of humor. With that then, I introduce you to his take on power form co...

2.4 vs 2.6
The short... The 2.4c overclocks better than the 2.6c. Newegg caters to the enthusiast crowd and the demand from that sector is directed at the 2.4c, not the 2.6c. I'd go with the 2.6 if you don't plan on overclocking. The ugly... Intel cpu's are multiplier locked meaning that to overclock them, you...

Matress tags have that warning for retailers not the end user. The reason for all that is because ripping the tags off a used matress and reselling it as new is akin to rolling back the odometer on a car.
