You will probably need a quiet 80mm fan to help cool the chip. Some people wedge a fan next to a PCI slot to blow directly down onto the heatsink. I bought a Zalman FB123 fan bracket, so I have a quiet fan pointed perpendicular to my video-card heatsink. There is also a way to build your own fan br...

Some of those things on the front are of dubious usefulness. Anyway, unless they post a better pic of the innards, it moot to even talk about this case. Buy one and take some pics so we can properly critique it :)

It's called Ebay. You can get $40 for the PSU easy peasy. I did.

Come down to Taco Hell in Urbania for some free WKRP schwag

The Antec holes are designed to let the PSU breathe in fresh air. Since your PSU will not "breathe", I don't see the benefit. Just make sure that 120mm is running. I'm not really sure the Sonata is "the case" for use with a fanless PSU, though. SInce you will lose the airflow from the PSU, you will ...

LOL.

UH..... grasping at straws here , but I have a similar config as you. I assume you are playing the sound through the M-Audio Sound card right? Do you definitely have the onboard sound disabled? Differentiation for the Sonata: 1. Front Headphone and Mic jacks (I consider this important) 2. Blue Neon light ( I *don't* consider this important) 2. Better PSU in Sonata (Neither is great and need replaced, IMO) 3. Sonata is a little shorter Can't think of anything else besides the paint job, and...

One thing I noticed is the the ANTEC holes on the side do go directly into the PSU intake, as the fan on my Nexus NX-3000 is frigging filthy. :x I almost need to void my warranty to get in there and clean the PSU. However the 120mm exhaust is fairly clean. That tells me that the filtered air is goin...

Only concern would be the increased noise if the fan in the PSU is temp controlled. If the fan in PSU increases too much it may be better to vent the CPU directly out the back instead of through the PSU internals. It depends really on your PSU and your CPU's heat production.

Did you notice a large benefit from what you had before? Noise and cooling wise? Actually the temps are not what I had hoped, but they are better than the SLK800U by about 2C load, and maybe 3C idle. Mostly I am just happy to eliminate another fan. GPU block will solve my last problem on the ZM80 j...

I plan on switching it to sucking as soon as I get the GPU block (to answer Mr_Smartepants' question). I still wanted to maintain some outward airflow to help the ZM80 on my Ti4200 until then. I will probably also go with a NB block, but that's further down the road. Plus I'm not sure all that tubin...

I want everything contained within the case. If I wanted super cool, I would go with the heatercore. Those things are pretty ugly, though.

I just want competent and passably effective.

BTW, that's one of those OEM Panaflo 120's on the rad, that I got from Lenny. Nice fan. Thanks Lenny! :)

I just can't leave well enough alone. Several people told me it was impossible to fit all this into a tiny Sonata case, but I made it work :) I can tell you it was a close fit, there is about 1/8 in from the radiator fan to the waterblock knobs. :!: I got a used Waterchill on the [H] forum for a pre...
