From my experience I think you are better off just getting a PATA. My mobo has both PATA and SATA and when I bought the machine the HDD (a samsung btw) came with a PATA/SATA plug. The problem was that when I tried to install w2k the drivers did not work (not even the newest ones from the website) so...

You could possibly put a 80mm fan there (depends on the space you have) I did this for a hs I have (the hs is 80x70 in size but had a 70mm fan, I just use 2 screws to hold the fan and it is fine) the added benefit from this is that I get extra airflow over my nb :-) At least check if you have room f...

I am using a Zalman in a chieftec dragon case and I had the same problems with the ends getting bent in..
