Aha!
I realized I had disabled "CoreCenter", which is MSI's fan speed / dynamic overclocking / voltage control utility. I use my computer for a lot of digial audio recording and think I was concerned that CoreCenter was causing distortion or drops in my recording. When I ran CoreCenter, the fan speed dro...

Zalman 7000AlCu LOUD on my A64 System...
I've recently built a new computer with an Athlon64 3400+ (rev. CG), MSI K8T Neo FISR2 mobo (with Cool&Quiet support), and Zalman CNPS 7000AlCu heatsink/fan. I plugged the Zalman into the supplied fan speed controller and the fan speed controller into the mobo. I was under the impression that the fa...

Where to get filters?
I just put together a new Athlon64-based system with the Zalman CNPS-7000AlCu, and am interested in installing an air intake filter. I'm using an "I-Style" case, and will probably have to mod it significantly, but I'm game. Any recommendations? What kind of filter should I look for and where do I ge...

Source for A64 3400 AR/CG CPU?
Has anyone found a source for the Athlon 64 3400+ CPU with CG stepping? Model # is apparently "ADA3400AEP5AR". I tried to order one from New Egg, but they pulled the old bait&switch and sent me the ADA3400AEP5AP instead.

MoBarton Recommendations?
I just had a nightmare trying to order an Athlon 64 3400+ AR/CG CPU from NewEgg and have given up in frustration. Even if they do ever get any more in stock, there is NO guarantee they won't ship you the AP/C0 instead! So I'm going to jump on the Mobile Barton XP 2500 bandwagon after all. Can anyone...

Availability and Mobo?
Can anyone provide a reference to a supplier of this CPU here in the states? Also, can anyone recommend a reliable mobo for it?

Heat?
What are you doing about heat? All that foam will muffle noise, but it will also insulate the drive and prevent it dissipating heat. The Smart Drive 2002 (which I have installed in my computer) acts as a large heat sink as well as muffling drive noise. I'm extremely happy with it. I can barely hear ...
