Your temps dropped by changing the MB?
I'd think it was more a question of how the MB sensors read temp.

1. Is it necessary to install the felt pads on the heat sink? The instructions at Thermalright.com don't seem to mention them at all. They're both great products as well - if just a little less effective in the cooling department.
