Your temps dropped by changing the MB?

I'd think it was more a question of how the MB sensors read temp.

You have RPM monitoring on that PSU - check it Most of the people who are happy have their fans running @ 1500 rpm Mine never went below 2400 - I swapped it for a Fortron rather than RMA-ing it. I'd be curious to actually get voltage reading from the "fan only' connectors and see if they were at nea...

In some parts of the world, AC really isn't needed. It's never 80F+ around here, except, well, now. No rain for weeks, a few miles from Seattle. It's 89F in my house tonight. I'm sweating with fans on all around me. And they're not undervolted, either. Good God it was hot - yesterday afternoon was ...

Hey grnarrow -

Seems like everyone was missing the "zalman mulitfan controller" part of your question - I asume you mean the ZM-MFC1 (which I have)

The controller hooks up directly to the PSU via 4 pin molex - you'll want to buy 3 pin 120's - I have mine hooked up to it - it works great!

I think it's just an error - and a fairly common one at that - Samsung's site says the SP1604N is only 2 MB buffer.

This doesn't sound like a very good idea (not because of odor)

While the tile may provide some vibrational dampening (just due to added mass) - the only real effect would be a HEAVY computer.

"Pretty" is a matter of personal taste.

I agree that the stock config is not that quiet - but I think the case sharp looking and functional.

There's plenty of more expensive, ugly cases out there!

1. Is it necessary to install the felt pads on the heat sink? The instructions at Thermalright.com don't seem to mention them at all. Unless this statment applies "stick the four static free rubber pads onto the CPU" rubber pads? CPU? Yes - the base is narrow and the pad help stabilize it - Thermal...

Volara Foam

I see in previous discussions of melamine vs other kinds of dampening - a lot of folks were buying some of the volara foam.

How did it work out - and what applications were you using it for.

I'm going with my gut here (and the fact that these PSU come in $25 cases) and say generic piece of crap.

If you don't have the money for an Antec - there are other options- like the much discussed Fortron PSU - only about $30 shipped

The AX7 is reviewed on the site (and on the Recommended list) - the one thing to be careful of is that it won't fit on all motherboards due to the size. I use an SK7 and it works great - temps about 10 d...
