Or you could make one fanless.
Zalman's fanless video heatsink is great. It cools my geforce4 Ti 4400 just fine.

SHOCKING My xp1600 just survived a reported 96 C! I forgot  to plug the cpu fan back in after tinkering... and I didnt notice until it started going BUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I'm not sure if it was some mobo alarm or what, so I opened up ASUSprobe and it said 96C. Ouch. I turned it off and s...

I really don't know where I fit in here. My computer is not really what you'd call loud; my friend's computers are a lot louder. However, When I am using it in an otherwise silent environment, it really bugs me. I have actually found the spot to put my head where the reverberation cancels out the mo...

Zalman CNPS7000Cu + Athon 64 3200
I've been reading about the Athlon 64 3200+, and its ability to lower its clock speeds when it is not being extensively used. I've also been reading about the Zalman CNPS7000Cu, and its variable fan speeds. Is it possible to have the fan shut of entirely at low speeds, or would this cause the temper...

Hey thanks hsdhman, I didn't know if you could really test it or not. Could you try it at 1024x768 at 32bit? Just wondering as that's how I play it. It won't put out as many fps as that current pic, but it should still be impressive. I'm just curious. LOL I wish i was the one taking those screens! ...

Initially impressive, but inconclusive without more data. 12v fan on CPU--not terribly quiet Open case --convection helping Mobo flat--convection helping No mention of ambient temp Which way is the air moving from that 120mm fan in the second pic? Does this contribute to cooling? Forum link states ...

What ever happened to these fancy new TMD fans? Did they just turn out to be very inefficient, or hard to use, or louder than the hype was advertising? I remember the Vantec Aeroflow being advertized with this style of fan, but did anyone use them as case/ psu etc fans as well? I know these things c...

Not this kind of dampening!!
My comp is quite loud, and sometimes very annoying. This morning, without my knowledge, my sister tried to make it quieter... She took a thick fleece blanket and smothered it! Luckily, I discovered it in time. It was nice and quiet, but the cpu temp was more than 70 degrees celcius (161* F) and the ...

today i got some very good news, and some rather bad news. I plugged my gf4 into a p4 1.8ghz with some rdram, and it scored well over 10 000 3dmarks. It even ran smoothly with 4xAA and 8xAF @ 1024*768. (thats the good news). We couldnt get it working in the xp2700 though - it was a shuttle mini pc w...

I tried to use the asus support site, but it was no help whatsoever. All the forums have been "temporarily offline" for the last few months, and I can find no way to actually ask anyone about it. I cannot find anyone to determine that it is actually defective. Would the proper installation of the th...

Hey everyone thanks for all the help so far I tried nvidia drivers 44.03, and saw a SCREAMING 100 3DMARK INCREASE from 6550 to 6650! wow....... However, now my comp freezes after five minutes of BF1942 or war3, and within 2 minutes of playing generals. I see no benifit from this. Back to 41.09 for m...

She's so hot...
Hello Ive had an Asus geforce 4 ti 4400 for about 10 months, and I noticed it gets VERY hot. The memory gets too hot to touch, and the back of the stock aluminum cooler gets painfully hot while playing games. I was also only getting about 6000 3dmarks, and about 60% of the frame rates of my friend w...
