So, if you can still get an old S12, I recommend you do so. The fan will be quieter and it might not buzz. Personally I'm intrigued by Nexus models and Fortrons , since Nexus makes the reference fan and Fortrons have always been good to me. They feature honeycomb, 120mm and modular like the other f...

Thanks for reply! Found the older s12 on a webstore, but it seems to me not so priceworthy (other webstores claims to have the s12, but links me to the newer s12 II which is cheaper by the way!). Anyway, the price offered for the old s12 makes me looking at the corsair 520w which is just considerabl...

Although I bet the 60mm fan on the M12 surely never would spin up in my case, I just dislike the fact it being there. To bad since I definately would like modular cabling. M12 out of the pic then...I think. As both of you stated, anything above 300watts for me is more or less like having a ferrari i...

Hey! :) Thanks for taking time answearing. Did notice the thread on spcr you linked. That one along with a few other questions raised in my head, has made me really confused. Thinking right now about modding the nexus psu instead, although beeing very aware of that lifetime length may shorten drasti...

Upgrading for Cubase user (2.4c --> e6600)
Hello SPCR members! A new upgrading process is taking place for me and I had god help last time (probably around 2003... :wink:) from you people. As a frequent user of Cubase SX I've reached a point were I realise that the systems needs to be refreshed (due to more demands, both from myself and all ...

Re: Any Sapphire Radeon Ultimate 9800 pro owners out there?
Hello, I was hoping some Sapphire Radeon Ultimate 9800 pro owners may be able to help with this.. I am considering purchasing one for a pc I am building and I don't really feel too comfortable with modding an existing Radeon card. Has anyone had any luck with this card without an additional fan? I ...

Re: Compucase 6a21 + Zalman fb123 = ??
Hello: love the case, but the pci and agp slot "grabber"...that green and violet thing (no idea what to call it) won't fit with the zalman fan bracket arm. is it possible to remove it somehow. it appears to be very solid in place. It comes out quite easily -- there are screws that hold it in place....

I was disappointed with the ZM-300A. If you’re on a budget, go for the FSP300-60PN (even the PF version is quieter than the Zalman, and much cheaper). Or even better: a PSU ranked higher on the recommended list i also find it hard to believe that the grill design on that Nexus can be quiet ... Supr...

Which Radeon 9800 Pro?
I am a gamer, no question. Understand that FX cards are a lot more noiser + Radeon has better image quality + Radeons are cheaper. Anyway, which 9800 Pro card is the best, or could I just go for the cheapest? Connect3d, Powercolor...? Sapphire have some ultimate edition of a 9800 pro which had this ...

oyeehh...well i remember pushing my zalman 300w (zm300apf something) by replacing the original fan (2500rpm) with a papst at 1500rpm - it became deadly silent, but it didnt last for more than some months. a (fuse?) resistor was burned. btw. the fan "connector" dilemma was the same for me. i cut both...

Re: hmmm
NeilBlanchard and Uwackme. Did you cut out the grills in the front of the case as well? Look: (2) 120mmx25mm Enermax fans @ 4.5volts -- very quiet! But you *must* cut out the grill s . and: All 4 were in 6A19 cases with 120mm intake/exhaust fans and cut grill s . Looks like they did cut out both gr...

About the Compucase, what's the difference between 6A21 and 6A19?? Can't see any difference except design on Compucase homepage. The 6A19 is just slighty more expensive in store I've noticed. The PSU included with the 6a21 in the store where I would buy it, is named HEC 300w .... what the ... heck (...
