I strongly recommend you get the ZMOP-1 optional fan for the ZM80C-HP. My Ti4200 is running at 300 core using the fan @ 5v and it's dead silent. Without the fan the heatpipe alone cools about the same as stock video card coolers.

Shadow - I think his intention was to simplify his wiring - not just be able to monitor fan speeds using his mobo.

If your motherboard supports PWM, you might be able to use Speedfan to run them off the mb headers at less than 12v

Just thought I'd throw in my 2c My 2.4c (Costa Rica) is running at 3.2ghz (267x4 fsb) and cooled in a Sonata with a 7000cu with AS3 (set to 1250 rpm - ramping up to 2400 when CPU temp exceeds 40º using speedfan). Idle is 33º - load (2xP95) is 45º. My mobo is a P4P800 and I know that Asus' temps vary...

Just a heads up for those who get abnormal RPM values when your fan slows down - just set the fan divisor up a notch (under the speedfan advanced tab) ie if it's 2, set it to 4 - if it's 4, set it to 8.

Worked for my 7000Cu

Quick Sonata Question re Fan Size

Has anyone been able to fit a 38mm wide 120mm fan (like a panaflo) on the intake mounting behind the drive cages of a Sonata? I'm just wondering if it interferes with full size ATX motherboards but it doesn't look like it would from most pics I've seen, but maybe there's another reason. I know for s...

I just installed SpeedFan 4.09 on my P4P800 system last night - it's able to slow down my 7000Cu fan but not my panaflo case fans. I'm betting it's because the panaflos don't have RPM monitoring. I got around this by moving the fanmate from the CPU fan to the case fans since SpeedFan slows down the ...

Here's a link to 9600 pro overclocking results:

It approaches 9700 pro levels! However, keep in mind that ATi probably sent a sweet-ass card to hardocp to review, knowing what they'd do to it (ie OC) but impressive none the less.
