Can the zalman NB heatsink really cool that card? You don't have a low speed fan blowing over it? I've tried it both ways. One with a zalman bracket/80mm combo blowing across it low speed, and then just the heatsink itself. Even with just the heatsink this card doesn't get as warm after running q3a...

I just got a 9600pro and I have a ti4200. Without AA or AF enabled, Frame rate-wise they're about the same, but once you turn on the eye candy the 9600pro will leave the ti4200 in the dirt. I find this card to be the perfect choice for the average gamer and it runs MUCH cooler than the ti4200 which ...

Well, after some thought I went and removed both the fan and the heatsink. Replaced em with a zalman nb hs(One of those gold-colored ones) which looks like it was made for the 9600 heh. Little smidge of silver paste and it's all set. So now I'm wondering if I will even need the bracket and 80mm or n...

can I unplug it and leave it?
Hey all! I thought there was an article somewhere around here about gpu cooling but I cannot find it now. At any rate, I just bought a 9600 pro and was wondering what ya'll think about just unplugging the onboard fan and using a zalman brackat/80mm for cooling instead? If I use the tip of my finger ...

Thanks for input! Man what a difference. It's a maxtor diamond plus 9 - 80 gig. The combination of placing it on the foam and running that amset program has removed pretty much all vibration and seek noise. Difference between night and day! Now I gotta do something bout the power supply ;) This pc i...

placing drive on foam?
I want to see how much difference it makes sound-wise placing my harddrive on a foam pad at the bottom front of my case. Do I just place the drive on the foam right side up or should I place hard drive upside down on foam? Is there any danger placing drive on foam regarding not being grounded? As lo...

First off, Hey all. I stumbled across this forum and have been reading lots of good info. I have a coupla questions. I have a msi KT3 Ultra 2 running a barton 2500 clocked to a 2800 using default voltage. The box runs like a top 24/7 but I'm wondering if the temps shown in the bios and pc alert(both...
