According to the Zalman specsheet the ZM80C-HP needs to have a fan for the 9800 and higher, but it is a very quiet fan (and you can undervolt and use any fan that you want really). It just needs good airflow so you might be able to get away with just really good case airflow, you'd have to test but ...

Nope no SATA connectors on the power supply of the Sonata. You would have to buy a SATA power addapter (they are only ~$5) to power the drive. Kinda brings up the question of why the drive makers decided that a new type of power chord was needed? Seems like we've got way too many already so the comp...

Try searching at the zalman board. http://www.zalman.co.kr/english/board/board.htm

Otherwise post there, they are very good at quick responses.

Yup they would love to sell live drives. Can't blame them either. Here are the pinouts for the AUD_EXT connector from the audigy/audigy 2 docs. AUD_EXT connector pin assignments Note ADC stands for Analog-to-Digital Converter Pin Name Description 1 VCC +5V power supply 2 VCC +5V power supply 3 GND G...

Check the help files that came with the card on the CD, that were installed when you installed the drivers. For the Audigy anyway, it has pinouts for all the major connectors, though I've never tried getting sound out of the connectors, only the firewire, which does work.

Just using the Zalman CPU fan on fan controller's quiet setting, a 120mm back case fan, and a 92mm (I don't have any 'quiet' 120mm's) blowing from the Barracuda across the case, both using the 'fan only' headers, so I guess that counts as voltage modding. Temps were ~44C (CPU) and ~36C (Northbridge)...

The ZM-80C works great actually with the AIW 9700. At first I thought it would need a fan, but after testing it seems that it could live without, just make sure you have some sort of resonable case airflow around it. Specs: Antec Sonata case. Asus P4P800 P4 - 2.6Ghz with Zalman 7000-Cu cooler Ati 97...
