Finally, im satisfied with my rig
Mike c said that akasa pax mate is useless as a sound insulator. He is probably right, however i found a badass use for it anyway, which pretty much eliminated the last hints of noise from my computer. I pasted akasa all over the inside of my aluminum case and it made a huge difference by simply wei...

i just put in my replacement fan too. I would have to say that in general this replacement fan is a worse trade and i think i may have to put back the old one and deal with the startup whine. Right now it starts fine every time but seems that it has a weird buzz to it. like coil whine (about 60hz) T...

i got a 120mm panaflo l1a, and i dont feel like waiting for rma, is it worth my while to stick it into the power supply? im talking about the startup whine btw.. also it seems to me that seasonics claim that only a small percentage of psus are affected is bullshit. I mean if it was only 2% of all un...

hmm sounds like you got a defective bearing, that siren like noise could be the vibrations in the fan caused by unstable bearings. That or a cap is blown and you are hearing the fizzle a blown cap makes when it tries to hold charge. (it sounds almost like a dog whistle/monitor degaussing sound) Most...

hey sbaab very good and useful point. I just installed the seasonic tornado and i must say, my pants have been blown off with the 120mm fan of silent fury. It's a 92mm fan on the cpu cooler, not 120mm. If you're a silence enthusiast I recommend staying away from what is essentially a heatsink with a hard-to-replace 92mm zalman. It certainly won't be loud, but a heatsink+80mm panaflo will be quieter. 120mm : im talking about the fan on the card cooler....

That card cooler moves 32 CFM, its probably quite loud. Blowers don't move nearly as much air as axial fans, but have much higher pressure. The north bridge cooler will probably be pretty loud, buy a zalman to replace it. That WD hard drive will be a problem, it wil REALLY whine, probably higher th...
