Seasonic in p180b

I have a Seasonic s12-600 in a p180b and it works great. I faced the intake fan up and put the unsed connectors below the supply. I used a Nexus fan at the mid point of the power supply chamber and taped off the extra holes on the back of the case so all the air goes through the power supply. The po...

I had a SS400 A2 that ran great until I changed to a high power graphics card. With the larger load the psu fan started ramping speed and would go between 1400 to 2800 rpm. The constant up/down noise was really annoying. I did an RMA and Seasonic sent me an A3 version. The fan is now quiet and stays...

I have a Lian-li pc82 case that had a blow hole fan in the center of the top. I removed the fan and used the hole to make a duct for the PSU. With the ss400 psu getting ambient air its fan never speeds up.

Yes the fan is in the top and I have found that it does little to cool the case. I changed mine to a window and the pc got quieter without getting any warmer.

haysdb,
Did you use the deluxe or standard AcoustiPack kit. I also have a "drumming" sound in my pc82 Lain-li case and am thinking about using AcoustiPack.

I have an Antec 380tp and have measured the fan only connector at 5.25 to 5.5 volts. This may not be enough to start the 120mm case fan all the time. Try connecting the fan to 5 volts on a molex connector to see if it starts. You may need to use a fan controller like the zalman fan mate, <10 dollars.

I would remove the existing heatsink/fan and replace it with a Zalman zm17. I did this on my wifes AIW version of the card and it works great, silent and cool. Check this forum for more zm17 info. I you need suggestions on removing the old fan I can post a method I used on my two ATI AIW cards.

Just switched my psu from an Antec 380tp to a Seasonic Super Silencer 400 watt model. The Seasonic is very quiet and cool running. I bought it for 99 dollars at Microcenter with a 15 dollar rebate.

No problem bending the fins with the outer one being about a 45-degree angle. I used a credit card under the fins and tried to hold them flat against the card while bending. I also put a screwdriver in the middle on the vertical rise to keep them as straight as possible.

I have one on my AIW Radeon 32 without a fan. It felt a little hot so I opened it up to make it look like one of the Zalman flower coolers. I had enough room as the slot below the card is not used. It did lower the temperature. I don't have any temperature data just using my finger tips.

Lian-li pc60 drive mounting mod

Ralf,
Took the pictures but this forum does not allow image uploading so I will make a home page at Verizon. I was going to do it any way and this is a good reason to get me going on it. I have to work today so will post them tonight.

Lian-li pc60 drive mounting mod

Thought I would share how I mounted my Seagate drives in my Lian-li pc60 case. This site has helped me a lot and wanted to pitch in. I have two Barracuda 7200.7s, a 160gig and an 80 gig, which are quiet, compared to my old WD but they vibrate. The vibration was causing the case side to buzz disturbi...

I have a Smart fan II from a Volcano 9 heat sink and do not use it because it makes too much noise. Tried it in all three modes as both a CPU and case fan. Lots of vibration and buzzing that I assume is caused the motor control. Stick with the panflo.

Hey alexb, They are made up of two pieces, a pin and a socket, which are reusable. The part you see acts as a pin, which pushes into the socket part to spread the plastic. To remove them from inside the case push on the exposed end of the pin. This will allow you to grab the pin from the front and p...
