The motor support stays (from motor to frame) appear very aerodynamic in profile, compared to most other designs.

Re: PSUs that vent heat back into the case
The latest revision S12's appear to have done away with any vents: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article753-page2.htmlPlacid wrote:Many 120mm fan PSUs have vents to prevent back pressure and improve airflow over the components, particularly the SeaSonics that are popular here at SPCR, which have ample vents.

Formula 1 wheel case. One large fan at the top (behind the spokes), blowing upwards/outwards, and wheel mounted 5mm off the ground for air to enter at the bottom. These wheels come up regularly on eBay. A very sexy lump of magnesium.

New Silverstone ultra-quiet thermal-control fans
Browsing the Silverstone site for something else and noticed these. Anyone tried them yet?

I’m sure the P150/Solo trays are wider. 130mm, IIRC. The extra width is to accommodate the optional hdd suspension.Das_Saunamies wrote:Measurements of Sonata HDD tray: 114mm wide, 93/125mm deep, 21/24mm high. Depth is for tray/tray+locking, height is for tray/tray+dent. Locking edge is 15mm from front.

The Eclipse is one of just a few cases that can be modded to take 140mm fans. In theory bigger fans can achieve a better cfm/dB ratio than smaller fans. A few companies make good 140’s including Yate Loon. Also add NoiseBlocker BlackSilent to your 120 short-list - tested by SPCR and found to be as...

I also remember the Sonata was once quoted as having 1mm thick panels, and now the Sonata III is 0.8mm according to Antec. 1mm on Antec’s spec sheet, correct, but it was only the internal bay areas, the rest was 0.7/0.8mm. (I don’t know anything about the MK3). Btw, I’ve corrected my previous...

Nice looking.......but. This case is designed exactly like so many others that were complete flops in the cooling department. Just how does Nexus expect enough air to enter the case through the small opening at the bottom of the front bezel? You have the PSU fan blowing out, the rear case fan blowi...

Potential airflow problem: notice that there seems to be none at all in the top half of the case? There should be a second blue arrow on that first photo, because the PSU will suck airflow across the mobo and graphics card. Looks like I was wrong about Soldam, this site seems active: http://www3.so...

Tiny ATX/MicroATX design, but being alu, no doubt more style than silence potential. http://www.nexustek.nl/morpho_premium_aluminum_pc_case.htm http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/1791/airflowci3.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/3090/mbbpo8.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/7770/morphoopen...

If I'm seeing that Thermalright case right, the heatsinks look like the condenser on a window AC unit. You look at the fins too hard and they bend inward. You couldn't carry the things easily.......the pressure of your fingers will dent the fins. And look terrible......you can buy a little comb-lik...
