Re: seasonic psu: fanless mode in the x-series
Thank you very much for your very competent answer I'm still not sure whether I should buy the x-660 or the completely fanless x-460: the fact that it doesn't have a fan at all scares me a little bit :| I think you've answered your own question. Why buy a product that will worry you when the altern...

Re: New high density 2-and-3 TB Greens from WD
Would someone notice the difference in vibration in everyday use using a Samsung F4 2TB over a WD Green 2TB?

Re: HDD vibration & noise reducing methods - ranked
Does anyone have any recommendations for the kind of soft foam I should use to lay my HDD on in the bottom of my case?

What kind of soft foam do I get for HD suspension?
I want to take all the drive sleds out of my Silverstone FT02 and put a piece of soft foam in there and lay my WD 2TB Green on it so that there is 0 vibration transmitted to the case.
What kind of foam do I need and where should I buy it from?
Thanks

Newegg reviews are from people who are generally morons when it comes to computers. Also look at all the good reviews They vastly outweigh the bad.

Re: 2TB : WD Green EARS vs. Samsung F4 EcoGreen
Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean WD is bad. Their GreenPower drives are the highest rated storage drives on SPCR for silence. I've never had a problem with WD, been using them for 10+ years.
As for the OP, I'd go with the WD 2TB EARS if you can make sure it's the 3 platter version.

Do you guys think WD is going to stealth introduce the 2 platter 1.5TB GP drives like they stealth introduced the 3 platter 2TB GP drives?

For a power supply to be cooled passively, the case should be vented on top and there should be no air path between the system fan and the power supply. What about running a i7-980X at stock speeds with say a Thermalright HR-02 running passively and just letting the AP181 penetrator fans do the cooling in the bottom of the FT02? I read a review somewhere saying it worked quite well. I want to try and make everything passive in my system except for t...

MikeC said "Most decent mid-tower cases with systems that draw <300W* peak. Chances are, this is 98% of non-dual-vga gaming rigs that use single-GPU cards." Didn't he also say the X-400 could go up to 700W peak with some nice decent airflow going through it? (Silverstone FT02 with AP181 penetrator f...
