Q6600 and Q9450 idle consumption THAT close?
I was reading the THG article regarding the 9100e and was shocked to see that the power consumption of the 6600 is the same as the 9450. Here is the page in question. I was expecting something like 4w. I know the thg articles are rubbish and was wondering has anyone measured the idle power of the 94...

What about a USB flash disk with somewhat better performance like a Transcend Jetflash. In this review it seems it's not that far off from some of the SSD and the price is MUCH lower. I think in terms of future-proof the ability to use USB sticks as main drives is pretty safe... I see it implemented...

I really need to know before I buy it. Video decoding.. how far does it work? can you please test some 720p 1080p? H264, VC1, anything would be useful. Eventually it would be nice to know if the 1.2 to 1.33 ghz would be a step-up that would allow it to stepup in a benchmark but that would be after t...

The cooler is big but it's just right for this case I think. I thought it wouldn't fit because of the beam that sits just above the cpu. I could only put the thing inside with the cooler already mounted on the case because of it. Well, I forgot to say anything about the temperatures (or maybe just o...

Silverstone LC13 with mini-ninja
Since it's not all complete yet I'm not sure it is the best place to post it but... here it goes: I ordered the parts for a new computer and thought of transfering the old ones I had running in a watercooled system to a aircooled one. I had a Silverstone LC13S I used on a dual-amd and thought it wou...

From the pictures with the cooler mounted in the case, it seems that it goes over the mainboard a little, (seems like 1cm) in the direction of the fans. Is this true? One of the computers I intend to use it on is in a silverstone LC13 and the PSU is very close to the mainboard. I initially figured t...

Scythe Mini Ninja review
First of all, I've been waiting for this review for quite a while, so thank you! Mini ninja review Why isn't the Mini Ninja review on the main page? I noticed it has a 09/02 date. I would like a place to comment the review. Once again, a great review! EDIT BY ADMIN: IT's now officially posted and li...

Thank you for the warning. I didn't think about that because I currently cool a 1900xt with a normal asetek waterblock and several of those blue memory-coolers from zalman that would fit just fine. Now that you mentioned it, I find it a big problem. I can't find any waterblocks for 8800gts/gtx that ...

Watercooling in NSK-2400?
Curentlly my watercooled computer does not have a case. It is about to be moved in a more "minimalist" room, so i need it to put it in a sharp looking case. My thought was that I put the computer in one case and the radiator, pump, and tank in a second case below the computer, so I would have 2 Ante...

the idea was not to use a case at all and have all the comp passively cooled. another thing I thought was that I use two or three zalman 6500BAlCu vertically on a copper base and hope to get enough natural convection for passive cooling, but that costs a lot here (35$ for each). I'll build the hair ...

CPU heatsink - copper wig
here is an idea i've had for quite some time now. I'm trying to find a way to cool my cpu without any fan and since welding copper plates to a base was a little hard for me, I thought about maximizing the surface... then I thought of making like a copper wig for it. One of the problems I'm thinking ...
