Hi, looks likes should end being very nice systems. Dual Ninja's is just fantastic! As for the PSU according to Seasonic's page the S12-430/500/600 all have the correct connectors to power your systems and even the 430w will be ample for your systems as outlined. I doubt you'll ever have them so qui...

Hi, the "head problem" is not a problem at all. The water coming back down compensates for the water having to flow up. (up to ~10m/30ft) I believe the tube used is a standard size so getting more shoudn't be a problem either. Having looked at pictures of the case I can see the problem with exhausti...

Hi, nice set-up. I'd guess dual Xeons with a Raptor HDD is pretty snappy. A few thoughts: I would guess the "passive" heat sinks are in fact intended to use case airflow as opposed to "properly passive" heat sinks like the some of the Scythe ones that can rely on convection. I think in their intende...

Hi, I have a Zalman 7000AlCu on my Barton 2500+ in A7N8X Deluxe (not E), most of the time OC'd to 2.2GHz, and it cools fine even turned down to minimum ~1350 rpm. It's pretty quiet at that but I can run it even slower 1100-1200rpm and then it's inaudible inside my case even when the case fans are tu...

Hi, another vote here for a laptop HDD as being ideal as they are quieter and lower power (and hence cooler) than any 3.5" drive. In the UK 20-30GB laptop drives are readily available, as are kits that come with rails to fit it into a 3.5" drive bay and adapter for the power and data cables. The dri...

Hi Ted, my suggestion is to try and find a fellow SPCRer who is (fairly) local to you to build a PC for you. That way you've a good chance it would get built and set-up to achieve the sort of quietness that we all look for. Personally I'd be happy to build a fellow SPCR's PC for the challenge of it ...

Hi, the only one I know of is the Gigabyte version. There are various cards with factory fitted VGA Silencers or Zalman coolers on them, I'm sure Sapphire do/did one and possibly HIS.
The Gigabyte is the fastest passive-as-standard card I'm aware of.

Hi, I can see that sort of difference between idle and load temps with my system, at idle the CPU (diode) is typically quite close to the "case" temp. At full load with fans turned down it can be 30°C above case temp and the case temp goes up a bit too. However I think my CPU is hotter than yours an...

Hi ak, do you actually have the Sempron CPU yet? If not I would say the "upgrade" was minimal, (assuming you're talking about a SoA Sempron) they are basically the same core. Your XP2500 is 1.833GHz (11x166) and the Sempron is 2GHz (12x166), I doubt the performance difference is noticeable. Further ...

Hi, you can read about my solution to pretty much what you're describing here The quality of construction using thin card, sticky tape and carpet is not exactly high but it works and may give you a few ideas. The PSU exhaust temp was noticeably reduced, at least until I changed the PSU fan anyway. Seb
