It's nice to know some companies still care about their customers. I've read so many cursomer service horror stories, thanks for the good news of your experience with Zalman.

I recently used 6 SP1614N's from Newegg in a media server, Linux software RAID 5, 24/7 for about 30 days now. All sound alike, very quiet compared to what I am used to. So far so good... Serial numbers: 0735J1FWC00828, 0735J1FWC03300, 0735J1FWC06607, 0735J1FWC06797, 0735J1FWC06883, 0735J1FWC06935 Al...

Unfortunately, they only included the side fan.

I just bought 3 of these cases from Newegg, and they had the gray trim as well as room for a 120 mm fan in the rear.

I've finally received all the parts, and after assembling everything I'm happy to say that it fits! No bending required. There is about .5mm space between the HS and the PS... Talk about a perfect fit!

Well, I decided to chance it and I've finally ordered the parts (Evercase 4252b, A7N8X-E Deluxe, CNPS7000A-AlCu), I'll be sure to let you all know what the outcome is.

Thanks for the pic, subaru! Based on the results in this thread, I'm pretty confident this combo will fit in the Evercase 4252 as well. With some luck, I should have a check from the insurance company in two weeks, so I'll be ordering all my bits then. I'll be sure to post my results.

I asked a similar question in this thread. The Evercase 4252 and the Sonata are both about 430mm tall so they should have about the same amount of room.

I sure hope Seasonic fixes the Super Tornado. I really want one for its high efficiency and active PFC in addition to the (potentially quiet) 120mm fan.

After reviewing the Socket 462 specification, if my calculations are correct, there neeeds to be 13.6 mm from the very top of the socket to the bottom of the power supply. I wonder if there will be enough room afforded by the extra space above the socket on the motherboard (maybe 8 mm) plus the spac...

I didn't think it looked like a Asus board. What model Shuttle board did you use? About how much lower do you think the Shuttle's socket is compared to the A7N8X?

Thanks for the great link, Lilla! On page 8 of Chris's article, by the looks of that 80mm fan rotated 45 degrees and mounted on an SK-6+, there may be enough room for a 7000A in there after all... Corner to corner, an 80mm fan should be ~113mm across, the Zalman is only 109mm in diameter.

This ought to get the job done, and it's free.

[Edit] You'll also need some sort of probe to block DC from blowing up your soundcard. If you're handy with electronics you could probably make a simple one out of an electrolytic capacitor and a resistor.

Is there any possibility of including oscilloscope traces in future reviews, to evaluate how "clean" the power provided by these supplies is? Ripple noise at 60 and 120 Hz or in the KHz switching region is particularly bad for HTPC applications (where silence is also very desireable); clean power is...

No one knows for certain if this will fit or not? If not, what is the best substitute for the 7000A that will fit?

If I were to decide to upgrade to a Sonata instead, are its internal dimensions as restrictive (I would imagine they are since they're both ~430mm high cases).

Bueller... Bueller...

Anyone? :P I guess I may have to be the guinea pig that finds out. Secondary question: Where can I buy the 4252 accessories Evercase makes (like HDD gromets, E4252-03)? I really like the 4252B, but Newegg only sells it with a powersupply, the side fan (I'd rather have the duct), and no gromets. Mayb...

Will a CNPS7000A fit in an Evercase 4252?

On an Asus A7N8X motherboard? If not, is there any other quiet case less than 430mm high that will fit? I am trying to squeeze this into my desk.

Turns out, it's a connector for an optional S/PDIF bracket, according to the motherboard manual. See page 28. The bracket shown in the manual is coaxial. If I can find this bracket for less than the price difference between the -X and the Deluxe, I'll be getting the -X. Edit: I see Newegg has the co...

Asustek's website led me to believe only the A7N8X-Deluxe offers S/PDIF output. You're telling me the A7N8X-X has S/PDIF out too... Interesting.

$62?!?

If you have to wait for the 7000A anyhow, get it for $35.99 + S&H here: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.a ... 6835118108

There is probably a better price than that for it on www.pricewatch.com if you don't mind taking a chance with an unknown vendor.
