I know of what we're doing is good for the science, no matter what team or platform it is done on... But, you're sure making me contemplate walking away from Folding and putting some of my time and money to other things. You may be having fun with your jabs back and forth, but its starting to look ...

MustangMac, as the lead dog for team MacOS X, you better check again ... Why yes. Team (A)RM (S)tealth (S)ystems is ahead of Team MacOS X. But the gauntlet was to pass Team AnandTech first. Which we most handily did. Yes I am the lead dog for our TEAM. Me and me alone. My OWN systems. MY own time. ...

We stepped up the effort recently because of the MacOSx challenge but it does take a toll. I can imagine how your individual efforts are so incredible. Like I stated in previous post, 3K PPD is unrealistic for us. It is an anomaly, an exception, pure luck, and most of all, only due to a collective ...

What I meant to say is that as hordes of ants march on, devouring all in sight, so we at SPCR continue our relentless march to devour any in our way. No, ants, do not devour everything in their path. Most are harvesters. They do eat, however, carrion and scraps of food. Only a few species are truly...

Like a horde of killer ants, we fold on! In all my years of college and teaching students, I never knew that members of the Family Formicidae folded proteins on a regular basis?! That is truly amazing! As for the 'Sound of Silence', I believe that was a contemporary metaphor relating to suici...

The sample sizes are 255 and 171 at present. Both of these machines are running folding only 24/7 so EMIII should be extremely accurate. Obviou...

I have done the math! Yes, it's not cheap! But as far as a comparative points basis a Dual Xeon 3.06 OC to 3.17 (running 4 clients) = 2 P4 2.4C HT OC to 3.4 (running 2 clients) = 2 Dual Athlon MP 2400+ no OC (running 2 clients). Or in numbers I have gathered 245 PPD = 2 x 132 PPD = 2 x 137 PPD. An A...

David, ASUS does not list any overclocking features for this board. :( I have two ASUS P4P800 Deluxe boards and they do have overclocking abilities. In Windows XP Pro the AI Bios can auto OC to 30% right off the bat. How much did you spend on this board? The P4P800 Deluxe runs about 125$ last I chec...

Yes I am running 2 CLI clients on the P4 boxes. Obviously with HT enabled. The Athlon 2400+ MPs are clocked at 2.0GHz (no overclocking). From all the data I personally have gathered on my machines I would say that the P4 2.4C overclocked to 3.4GHz with HT enabled running 2 CLI clients and an Athlon ...

I've seen numerous reports of 2.8C reaching 3.2-3.4 GHz on bus overclocking alone. The Pentium 4s in my previous post are all three 2.4c HT (800FSB). You can currently get the 2.4c for 165$ from NewEgg. As noted I have OCed all three to 3.2, 3.4, and 3.4 on stock air cooling. The best board in my o...

No problem with Athlon MPs. Other than that one spat with p520 and p522 I had. Damn strange. Once those had cleared out everything was back to worry free folding. Right now the processor to beat is the Pentium 4 2.4C HT (800FSB). In my opinion, that is. You can crank that puppy to 3.4 without...
