I haven't tried the Shuttle myself, but the guy who wrote SpeedFan told me that SpeedFan works well on the motherboard used in the SS51.

Motherboards with fan control

Mike,
I've got a couple of ASUS P4 boards with Q-Fan, and one of the Fujitsu-Siemens boards as well. Drop me an e-mail if there are any questions I can answer.

anyone know of a quiet 60mm fan

I have a case that can only take 60mm fans. I've tried the Vantec Stealth, and it is still a bit loud for my tastes. Does anyone know of a good quiet 60mm fan?

Thanks.

I would guess that it is either the DVD or CDRW. You might try starting up with no CD or DVD in those drives.

Seasonic internal fan connector

Hi All, Does anyone know an affordable source for the internal fan connectors used in the Seasonic Power supplies? I know that SiliconAcoustics has them, but I need a bunch, and $3 seems pretty steep. I've scoured the Digikey catalog and the Molex web site to no avail. Just a manufacturer and part n...

Suitable fan for modding Seasonic SS-300FS APFC

I've tried replacing the fan in the seasonic with several other fans, and found that none of them will start at the 4.5V that the PSU supplies to the fan at low load. I've tried PC Power & Cooling Silencer, Panaflo FBA08A12L and Pabst 8412 NGL. Anyone have any suggestions for a quiet fan that will s...

I've got the IDE to Compact Flash adapter from mydigitaldiscount.com in several systems, and it is working fine. I use it as the system drive in my firewall, which is a linux system running smoothwall. It boots just like a hard drive. I also have a couple on WinXP systems, which I use as quiet porta...

I've got a couple of the pioneer drives in systems running WinXP. I've tried their drive speed utility and haven't got it to work. The when I put it in quiet mode, the drive spins down, but then immediately gets loud again when I access it. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

I spoke to one of my distributors last week, and he told me that they won't be getting them for 3-4 more weeks. Of course when I talked to him in late july he said they would have them at the end of august, which obviously didn't happen.

Yes, the case has a small board that contains the electronics to do the ATX PSU stuff.

Seasonic 400W PSU

Hi MikeC, I'm glad to see that you have tried the Seasonic 400W PSU. I had been curious about it. Perhaps you can answer a few questions about it? Does it have much bigger heatsinks than the 300W? I've also seen a web page that led me to believe that it has two fans. Is this true, and if so, how doe...
