Okay, now I'm perplexed. I remounted the CPU, got a nice thin but reasonable layer of AS5 in there, got it all mounted nicely, and still 40-43C idle temps with fan on 2000RPMS. So I put the 120m case fans all on high... still 41. Grab the fan out of my window and have it blowing directly over the 7...

My 3000 Venice idled around 25C and wnt to 35C load with it at stock speeds. I'm using a moded cnps7000 AlCu with a 120mm fan. So, I'd say something is definatly off. I'm also only using one case fan in my Sonata.

What Now?

Okay, I bought a used Lian Li V1000, I love the style and the internal design... Unfortunatly the case had some damage, so I'm going to be sending it back. Now, I was okay spending about 150.00 + shipping on a case, but more than that realyl gets to be too much. Now, my second choice would be a P180...

Pump is submerged in the black bucket behind, its a ViaAqua 4900 that is struggling with the size of the loop (20meters of 19mm poly tube) with a danger den maze 4 cpu and a dd maze 4 north bridge block. Re: Getting a new case, any non-Antec reccommendations?

My current case is a Superflower SF-461. http://www.super-flower.com.tw/english/sf-561bl.htm My sister wants me to build her a machine so I thought I'd giver her this case and use it as an excuse to buy a new one. I thought I'd consult the experts here before I bought. I thought about an Antec P180...

You might want to try a citrus based cleaner. It should remove any kind of oil or thermal grease very easily and it smells good :P

Rubbing alcohol might also work.

Cut the thin metal support and layer four of them together. Now you've got yourself a passive CPU cooler for Athlon64. That wouldn't work very well. The fin spacing is too tight and the fins face the wrong directon on most motherboars. Not to mention it wouldd cost 200.00. You can et a ninja for 45...

I had no idea this was on the drawing board. It looks like it can cool as well as the XP-120, but is compatible with all Intel P4 and AMD K8 motherboards. It is slightly cheaper and is for sale at the Heatsink Factory . Actualy, from the review I saw it can cool better than an XP-120 when you are u...

Re: Neopower 480 questions

I have an Antec Neopower 480 and had the following problem: strong and sudden 'burnt' smell. The load was light at that moment, about 80W (Winnie 2 GHz on nForce4, 1 x 6600GT, 2 x HDD, 2 x 120 mm fan), I was just browsing the Web. I was able to shutdown in Windows, and later took the PSU to the res...

The 500w phantom and 350w phantom have the same internals AFAIK. However, I would never run a Phantom 350 with that kind of load without a fan.

On any procesor with a IHS (heat spreader) you want to put a small dot about half the size of a BB in the middle of the procesor. You should also spread a very small amount over the bottom the heatsink (just enough to tint the bottom a little bit). Press down on the cooler and wiggle it back and for...
