Re: first time WC need help.
I think res -> pump -> cpu block -> radiator -> res is the normal way. I don't think you would get much performance benefit if you stick with the single 120mm radiator. Your heatsink already has comparable cooling surface. You should contact Danger Den directly about comptability with 1366. Here are...

Re: Mugen 2 or Noctua NH-D14?
Between D14 and Mugen, I'd go for the D14 because it has better mounting, better overall build quality. Hard to find a performance comparison of D14 vs Mugen in dual fan configurations. For what it is worth though, the D14 is significantly better than Ninja 3 when both are using two Scythe KamaFlex ...

Re: TR Ultra-120 eXtreme Rev.C & AC Freezer Xtreme Rev.2
I'm surprised at how well the Ultra 120 Rev. C performed. I would like to see how Thermalright's latest generation coolers (HR-02, Silver Arrow, Archon) would fare.

Re: Quiet computer for moderate gaming (updated)
Thanks. I fixed the images. I am hesitant about cutting the rear fan grill because I wouldn't be able to cut it nicely enough to present the computer as a gift. Covered up the top side fan hole, but left the bottom side fan hole partially open for GPU cooling.

Re: Quiet computer for moderate gaming.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I think I will try
to keep the GPU heatsink but use an external 120mm fan.
Since I'm not overclocking, the CPU runs very cool with Noctua
D14 (55 C under LinPack).
I don't like the Accelero L2 and S1 because their mounting
systems are not good.

Quiet computer for moderate gaming (updated)
Accidentally scratched the previous Lian-Li case, and I wanted a smaller case anyway. So got a cheap CM Elite 341 case as replacement. Really wanted the Antec 3480, but didn't want to pay extra for the PSU. I very happy with the noise level. The GPU and PSU cooling components are essentially silent:...

Re: 140 mm fan: Noiseblocker PK-2 or Noctua NF-P14-FLX
I recommend against the TY140. I have two of them (included with Silver Arrow). They can only be used blowing air upwards. Refer to the diagram below (0 degrees = sky, 180 degrees = earth). If I use the fan with air blowing at 90 degrees or above, then the fan makes a very annoying click / scratchin...

I get the feeling that some here are missing the point of Silent PCReview. I still consider SPCR heatsink reviews to be among the best because: 1. Always test with reference fan at fixed speeds 2. Test with fan speeds most meaningful to me (most other review sites use >1200rpm as the slowest speed, ...

I wish this is a "choose 3 items" kind of poll. Anyways, I voted for the Noiseblocker fans. * NoiseBlocker PWM pans: Noiseblock has been getting a lot of good reviews from other sites. The previous generation NoiseBlocker fans were SPCR recommended. I'd like to know how much of an improvement the ne...

Lian-Li A05's footprint is bigger than most micro-atx mini-towers.
If you want a micro-atx cube case with better cooling, check out http://lan-gear.com/microATX_galery_dabox.php You can even fit a Noctua D14 in there

I'd get Thermalright Venomous X or Prolimatech Megahalems + Scythe Slipstream (or S-Flex) instead. The cost is about the same, but the above two heatsinks will outperform the Noctua. If you have a lot of room, consider the Cogage Arrow or Noctua D14 because they both can really take advantage of dua...

Since you live in Canada, why not get the Venomous X? It costs the same as TRUE, but performs better (better than Noctua U12P also). The mounting mechanism is significantly improved compared to TRUE.

I'd get the S-Flex. I've had four S-Flex 1200rpm fans, two Kama-Flex 1000rpm fans, and two Noctua P12 1300rpm fans. When I undervolt these fans to run at 800-850 rpm, the S-Flex and Kama-Flex were quieter than the Noctua P12. The P12 produced a low rumbling sound that won't go away under undervolted...

Even if you ignore the extrapolations, it is clear that the Nirvana isn't a top candidate for quiet cooling:
1) tight fin spacing
2) inability to replace stock fan (which is poor) without modding
3) poor performance vs noise ratio compared to Scythe Mugen 2 and Xigmatek HDT (they cost around the same)
