Well for one thing, adding an intake fan would decrease your temps dramatically instead of the fans passively pulling air through the case. Below is my setup and right now im showing temps on my Aerogate II as: 1.Lower HDD Cage area 29.5c 2. Main intake area 30c 3. Upper case 33c 4. Rear CPU area 31...

Hmmmm, those are most DEFINENTLY not mobo standoff screws, those are HDD mounting screws. Hmmmm I HIGHLY suggest Antec changes their manual or they could have some seriously pissed of people as a result of doing this. Then again, I thought most people knew the difference in case screws, guess I was ...

EndPCNoise are being asses at not telling us anything. Seroiusly, why didnt' SPCR pick a more reliable vendor? I really wanna black one.JDizzle wrote:The silver version is nice but there's still no word on when the black will be availble? I really want the black one but it cost almost $60 more than the silver.

He still doesn't believe you guys. Let's touch up on turbomachinery design 101... Most machines DO NOT operate at 7200 rpm in the X, Y, Z axis for 8 hours a day, 260 days/year. They are also significantly larger than the hard drive. A larger package translates to a more durable bearing with much hig...

You've missed another reason for the "spoiler": to help stop people from accidentally blocking the hole by setting stuff there. A flat blowhole is an invitation to absentmindedly setting cd's or somesuch over the opening. Having the spoiler maens that even if you bury the case in junk, you'll still...

Antec P180. Serious design flaws?
I got to reading this and it REALLY started to make me feel let down about this case. What is your guys opinion? Think he's right or is he just bitching? Here is the post and link to the discussion http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=37&threadid=1600782&frmKeyword=&STARTPAGE=2&FTVAR_F...

I am delighted that there will be a black version, and I hope the case reviews well. But I remain skeptical about the positions of the PSU exhaust with a fresh air intake just above it. I read the post about the Lian-li diverter for the exhaust, and recall that it has previously been condemmed as c...

@MikeC: for the actual review, please show the P180 populated with a nForce4-SLI motherboard and two long cards fitted with AC Silencers. I don't think they will fit with the middle HDD cage installed. Of course, you won't really need the middle cage if the bottom one works as specified. But I'd li...

Can you tell me about the pre orders for the SPCR Antec P180 case? At the end of http://www.silentpcreview.com/article249-page1.html It suggests you might already be taking them. Thanks, John Jenkins That's my E to endpcnoise.com. Darin just got back to me: John, Hello! We won't have any of the P18...

I like the colour scheme you have for the rest of the case, and I think it really looks great, but I agree with Tay that the grille should be black instead. White seems too contrasting to the other colours IMHO. But if YOU like the white, then stay with it of course, because that's what really matt...

What's the grill addition do to the noise level? Air flow maybe? I've been playing around with doing something like that myself with my sonata. How is it working out? any improvement in temps? Do you get much noise coming through the grill? The purpose was for airflow as the case was still sufficat...

"Night Wind" Intake modifications complete
PROJECT UPDATE: INTAKE AREA MODIFICATIONS I have recently completed intake modifications on "Night Wind" to dramatically increase my intake airflow on the system. Ahhh i've made a discovery. By removing the front lower benzel cover the airflow DRAMATICALLY increased inside. This confirms my suspicion that the intake design is extremely resricting in allowing passive airflow to move through the front and thus, into the case. Im now formulating a plan to someho...

The Exhaust fan is already at 12v, its just controlled by PWM by my AeroGate 2 and even at full crank the airflow is pitiful. The case is on top of my desk next to me and theirs not much I can do about it other then putting it on the carpet and have it suck up more dust. Guess its worth taking off t...

The HDD"s themselves are running at good tempatures, im more concerned with feeding the system enough air to keep all my other components cool and this passive system isn't working. I actually did try removing all my extra PCI slot covers to see if it would improve. With my kleenex test, it was pull...

Sonata still can't breath worth a damn!!!
ARRRRRGHH!! I"ve never been so fustrated with a case in my entire modding career. I recently just added some foam insulation around my drive bay door as "Night Wind" was pulling air through the drive bays and pulling dust through my optical drives. Now that i've got the problem solved, I noticed how...
