Just got my order in today, I've ordered the standard mutemat in order to save shipping costs, planning to add in some barrier with it. The package came in a medium sized box, pretty heavy duty and I was surprised to find the mutemat is covered with a layer of bubble wrap...not bad for shipping some...

Looks really good on paper and has an enormous potential too. At least there'll be another option to choose from other than water, phase change etc Still it is just another method of transferring heat away from a heat source, like heatpipes. Therefore cooling rate and noise would depend on the heat ...

There have been many comments (in other threads) by some of the most respected members of the SPCR community to the general effect of "I care about silence; I don't care about looks". Fair enough, and well said. There have been fewer similarly direct statements to the effect of "I care about silenc...

Next removing both drive cages http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/nuttybing/DSC00625.jpg Then removing the alu plate that separates the compartment. This is done as I've noticed the top compartment doesn't get enough airflow. After removing, the 5.25" bays and mobo tray became pretty flimsy as i...

On a serious note, it seems that Thermaltake has been coming out alot of heatsinks n cases for the market periodically (they're probably very rich), most of them having radical designs. If only they did more research on heatsink designs, reduce those bling bling, rehire the marketing department and ...

1) If you really want to decouple your drives, the only way to go about is to drill out the drive cage rivets and make your own suspension system. I've actually ordered the v1100 but i'm now in aussie, will have to wait till i get home in 4 weeks time to play with the casing. 2) I'm pretty sure the ...

It's still going to be sucking air in through the rear. Where else is the fan from the VGA silencer going to get its air from? Hmm yeah you've got a point too...other than the front fan, i guess the other place would be the back which in the end gets hot air recirculated back into the casing. I'll ...
