Spod - no offence taken, no
It's pretty hard to insult a Leeds supporter nowadays, I've gotten used to the intentional jabs now..

Zalman CNPS-7000CU
Hey - my 7000 zalman's fan has developed an irritating "click". Anyone had any success replacing one of these?
Cheers

Quick question regarding tubing
"if u set up a 1/2" system, with 5 cm of of 3/8", u get no better flow than a full 3/8" system"
I'm pretty sure this is false, can anyone confirm?
What advantage does 1/2" have exactly over 3/8"?
Cheers!

I'm going to translate this from slight gibberish to make it more understandable, and also bump it above my post :) The plan is to use an aquarium tank, that's 3x2x1ft, as a passive rad. Does this have a hope in hell of working, given that it'll be in a cold loft, and hold a lot of water? All we kno...

I'm going for a radbox, as I can't fit the dual heatercore I want in my case easily at all :) Any hints and tips on building one of those would be appriciated though - maybe you should write a step by step guide on yours *nudge* :D Cheers Dave (ps help my out my friend guys, who may type like hes il...

Bleh - problem is, I think even slowing down my current NB fan with a fanmate caused overheat reboots. Replacing it with a Zalman isn't going to help its temps, especially if i introduce watercooling so airflow will drop right down... again, passive solution for the GPU seems a bit worrying too with...

At the moment i've got my sights on the following Seagate drives: ST3160023AS ST3200822AS Don't get the ST160023AS. I have it, suspended and dampened well, and it emits a low broadband hum thats just too irritating; it'll easily be the loudest part of a pc with silent fans. I'm looking at getting r...

Silent pumps and how best to achive it
Right; so after my long learning post ( http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=12104 ) I seem to be only left needing to make one more choice: Which pump do I want for silence? Given that I want to go Pump -> GPU -> NB -> CPU (prescott :/) -> rad -> res; it seems like the 1048 won't be eno...

And since you'll use a big rad , 3+ waterblocks and a lot of tubing (you're going external) , you will have a very restricting loop So I need a bigger pump than the 1048? However your Prescott is HOTTER than a severely overclocked Barton or Northwood... From what I understand, it's also built to wi...

YES IT IS! I got the dark brown, with the extra shelf extension on top (the model with the cut-out, not the totally flat one), along with the magazine and CD holders. I didn't have the guts to say, "Jerker." ROFL!!! I couldn't help but think of Fight Club when I read that :) Er, sorry, back to irri...

Right - Cheers for all the help guys :D do not think of getting a watercooling radiator at all. everything from blackice wont give you good temperatures with anything less than a 120mm fan on 12V which is what were trying to avoid as the objective is a quiet computer. DEFINATELY get a heatercore lik...

Right, but I can't afford to buy the 1048 and then realise it doesn't do what I want it to do. I think since I've asked *so* many questions to the forum, it might be better to revise them to what I still don't quite grasp :) Given that silence is my prioriity, but I also want cool running with no OC...

People sometimes will tell you that this or that thing is a must for a good water setup but keep in mind it might be true only if you want optimal high performance and NOT if your goal is a quiet system. As an example you surely have read that waterflow through the radiator is essential. Well, if a...

firstly, if you're doing it for noise, then you're going to be disappointed. a finely tuned aircooled setup will, in my experience, be quieter than even a finely tuned watercooled setup. however, the watercooled setup will perform 10 degrees or more better, and that's where the advantage of waterco...

One thing which may be quite interesting for you (stock-wise), is Zalman's Reservator. Check these thread here for some infos: I've already ruled out the Zalman kit - while looking pretty, it just doesn't seem to have the kick to do the job I want. *prays that it'll be able to cool a 3.4 Ghz Persco...
