A question abt the 'asking before sending/receiving work'...

...option - I'm going to be away from my computer for about a month (I'll be overseas), so I thought I'd switch from FAH to GAH and have my computer download and fold a series of work units given that I'm on dialup and the computer won't be accessing the internet too often. Anyway, I'm just wonderin...

Sheesh, I leave for a few days and I come back to a new GREEN folder at #159! Way to go WoodsBoy . And then there is lightning21x TEAL at #221 WoodsBoy is tearing it up - he'll be in the top 100 very shortly. My teal state isn't going to last for long however - I'll be away from my primary ...

Yep I got this one. This one's slow as anything, 25:24 per frame, 2.8G Prescott HT, running 2 instances. Are tinkers as bad as this?

I've gotten a p924 about 6-7 times as well - that equates to about 1/3 the total number of units my CPUs folded - a boring 44 pointer that's slow.

Is it ok to run 3 instances of FAH??

I've got an HT computer running 2 instances simultaneously, and i'm thinking of using another instance when one of my instances has finished folding, but I don't want to connect up to the net just to upload the data (I'm on dialup, and dialing up 2-3 times a day gets costly). Does having 3 instances...

I think I had a Dgro - might have been p932 or something, but yeah, it calculated as something in the ballpark that you mentioned as well. My eyes almost flew out of my head!

Crap euclid13. You were just ahead of me a few days ago, now you've doubled me. How you getting 6 min a frame running two instances on your Xeon??? My 2.8Ghz Prescott is averaging between 5-25 minutes (it varies greatly) per frame. What configs and settings you using (eg. for your instances, are u r...

Shathal,

Is is silent? I don't know yet, cos my blasted heatsink is so loud at the moment, that's all I hear!!!! I'll replace the heatsink, then I'll see. When I tested the 120mm by itself, it seemed fine....but in chorus, with the case closed, it might be a different story...

^^

Yeah I just checked out the Antec website, their higher models have the 3-pin mobo connection in addition to the molex.

Antec's black fan (the most basic model) only had 2 wires in the pics there as well. Oh well. It's working, it'll do. Thanks everyone for you help.

Antec Sonata - Stock system fan speed not showing up

I'm wondering if anyone else using the stock fan has had this happen to them before. The fan I've got only comes with the 4-pin connector, with two wires running from the fan to the connector. In MBM5, BIOS and Easy Tune, my system fan doesn't get a reading. And yes, it's blowing!
