Congratulations on your setup Edward, it looks really neat & tidy  I must say though, I did expect your temps to be higher considering you've made what I consider to be a few pretty important design bloopers, namely: - Pump seems rather wimpy for a 3 block system with a reservoir. - Rad is on t...

Edward you might wish to consider using 1/2" tubing rather than 3/8" for performance reasons. I say 'performance' even though silence is obviously your prime motivation for "getting your feet wet". I've found in my so-far limited "watercooling adventures" that performance is still a critical factor ...

hey bosk, i posted earlier in this thread about the sound of these things but i will go ahead and say it again. There is little to no noise or vibration. I got one about a week or two ago and its WAY better than my old hydor L30. I have it sitting on a 2in x 2in peice of foam and you cant hear it a...

Wow! Thanks for those suggestions; I will now reanalyze my water block choices. Since I'm in no hurry, I'll probably report back on my new choices in a day or two. I didn't realize that PolarFLO's chipset blocks are on the so-so side... -Ed EDIT: Okay, SilverProp is an Australian firm; their web si...

I impressed it's so compact and fully sealed, that should appeal to quite a few people. You'd want a pretty strong fan to get decent performance with a radiator that small though.. but I guess the pump doesn't need to be all that beefy with such a small closed loop. I wonder how long it'll be before...

So when i buy one of these things i should ? 1 Wash the reserator out with plenty of tapwater/dishsoap to remove the anodized dust and then drain. That doesn't sound like the greatest idea to me, maybe it would be better use the system normally and keep an eye on the level of "blue dust" by emptyin...

I've turned on the PC for 2-3 hours now and the temps are: CPU Idle: 52C Case Idle: 45C This is with the fans taken out from the exhaust. So the only fans present are the ones in the PSU and the CPU fan. Enermax Noisetaker fan speed knob set to "low". I'm located in sunny California so weather coul...

Sapphire 9600XT Ultimate in Australia?
Hey guys,
I've been trying to find any aussie vendor who sells the Sapphire 9600XT Ultimate cards (the ones with the passive heatsink) but so far without any luck.
If anyone knows where I can pick one up please let me know
Bosk.

Evercool Aluminum 120mm fan @ 80 CFM - 30db i think he already is :) oops. something that just occurred to me.. what happens if you wake up one day and decide you don't like the look of aluminium anymore? you'd be in a bit of a tight spot there i'd imagine... Spray paint it black? 8)

Great job!
I think the handle is a great touch
I really liked it how you sealed the pump with an extra layer of metal too.
May I suggest using an Evercool Aluminium fan blowing on the heatercore to match the look of the case?

I was always pleased with the Reserator's performance levels (compared to low-noise air cooling), but I guess when you have all the hassles of watercooling to deal with you tend to expect much better results as compensation, which was mainly why I modded it. We're now in the middle of winter in Aust...

i am sort of wondering how better tubing would result in better temperatures, if the ID and OD were both the same. I mean... it's the same size... nothing different... I've heard that better quality tubing can slightly increase your flow rate because the coolant won't "stick" to the sides as much. ...

I agree with chylld, the Reserator itself will limit your performance regardless of which mods you try. There's no reason why you couldn't lower your load temps by a good 5C with more expensive tubing, a stronger pump and a better waterblock though. I guess the question is how much time & money you'...

I don't know what's causing the problem, but it's definately coming from the pump, and it's not a hum. Maybe there is air in the pump? I've shut it of and restarted it and the sound is still there. Perhaps the pump's faulty? You could try draining the system and re-filling to see if it makes any di...

Excellent AussieFellah! Thanks for the write up. My pleasure. :) Could you comment a little bit more on the sound differences (based on your memory) between stock Reserator and the one with your last mods (Eheim 1048, not damped)? Re: Reserator Tips, Tricks, Advice?
I'm about to get a Reserator to cool my computer. I've kinda had it with fans, finding which is quieter and what not. I am only scared about watercooling due to the fact of leaks, spills, shorts, etc etc. Reserator owners: anything I should be aware of? Tips? Tricks? Advice? Feel free to post :P If...

Re: How to clean junk off GPU or thermal grease off Zalman?
Just wondering how you guys clean the original thermal pad on your GPUs before setting up an aftermarket heatsink? Also, I set up my Zalman HP80C last night, but didn't do the best job possible (i.e. not everything aligns perfectly). I used the included Zalman thermal grease/paste, but I'd like to ...

Re: X800XT + Zalman VGA Water Cooling. Risk it?
I'm planning on getting ATi's Radeon X800XT-PE from CompUSA on the 27th, when they "say" it's going to be in stores. I was also considering purchasing a Reserator as well as Zalman's water cooling solution for VGA cards, forgot the model number. Do you think I should risk it? Yes? No? Advice? Sugge...

so the 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD are a snug/tight fit? Any 3/8" Inside Diameter (1/2" Outside Diameter) tubing should fit the Reserator just fine. The blue silicon tubing supplied with the Reserator has a slightly smaller OD than other kinds though, so using other types/brands of 3/8" tubing will probably ...

Reserator Modding Results **NOW WITH PICS**
::: Introduction ::: Greetings everyone, I am the proud owner of a Zalman Reserator 1 and have so far been reasonably satisfied with it. Noise levels are amazingly low, but it's cooling ability wasn't quite as strong as I'd hoped, so I "took the plunge" and tried modding it  Below are resu...

i agree, the reserator itself is most probably the limiting factor here. not much you can do about that... good luck finding that part in bunnings, i've tried several times to no avail. for me, the best place to get them is a shop called Purple Pig, they have a lot of stuff there including barbs et...

Chylld: I'm heading down to my local Bunnings plumbing deptartment to buy some 1/2" Pump Adapters (this is the name for the blue fittings at the bottom of the Reserator heatsink- one end screws in, the other is basically a barb for the tubing to slip over). If they don't have any of these that will ...

Re: RESERATOR After Thoughts (Post Experience)
One thing im gonner change in the next coming weeks is the silicon tubes. Im gonner get some clear tubes and add some UV for added style and im gonner remove the "flow indicator" as its pretty useless. I can do with it it. Not sure if silicon tubes are better for concealing flow noise than standard...
