I think that with enough metal which is exposed to air around it, the disk does not heat up that much.

I attached a photo...

New product for HDD silencing + cooling ?

I'm not sure if this has been posted here yet. I ran into the following product for HDD silencing which also allows cooling for a reasonable price: German site ichbinleise (I am quiet): http://www.ichbinleise.de/index.php?cPath=28_126 or on a dutch site (www.ikbenstil.nl) Both are regular shops with...

The modelnumber is: Chieftec 410Watt ATX-410-212 ATX 12V2.0 PFC I could only find reviews in Polish... I agree that good in SPCR terms is difficult to accomplice. In general, it didn't look like a bad PSU and was rather heavy and well buid too. Cables organised OK, easy release connectors etc. The o...

Chieftec 410 Watt 120mm pfc PSU any good ?

I just got a new Chieftec LBX-02 case that came with a "free" 410 Watt PSU. Initially I thought it would be a free 360Watt. First thing I did was to take it out and move in my 400 Watt Zalman and move over the rest of my system. When cleaning up I found this Chieftec PSU. To my suprise it appeared t...

I've had the same idea for a long time. Many thoughts about it but no time to realise anything. I agree, fans in the back, holes in the bottom or the other way around. Furthermore I'd build some drawer system in it on which each machine is standing. This allows you easy access to each of them. My pl...

The Sennheiser HD212 Pro's are cheap ($50) and muffle all sounds around you. They sound great too and are very comfortable while covering your ears completely.
Put on a little music on low volume and all external noise dissapears. This model is very popular in my office.

300 Watt is far too much !. 250W QTech is enough 4y old now.
My system:-

Asus P4B
2.0 Gig P4 @ 2.8 GigHz
768 MB Mem @ 133M
ATI-9600 128Mb
80 Gig WD @ 7200 rpm
160 Gig Maxtor @ 7200 rpm
20 Gig WD @7200 rpm
Firewire PCI card
2 Fans

I wonder how the noise is checked/meassured with all the other components in the system running. This will require an SPCR review...

Interesting. A large wooden cube. 50cm x 50 cm I'd say. Just thinking of building a similar size box but put 2 machines in it using regular midtower frames. Put these on two seperate drawer shelves for easy access. Air intake from the top, output on the back. In my case I want to make all sides clos...
