I just wanted to say that I too have completed this mod. Bsaically did exactly as Joseph did, without the cool LED's (how do you do those btw?). I just took a blue Lazer LED and connected it with some duct tape to the bottom of the rail that the psu sits on. Shines down onto the duct. Real nice eff...

Update: Ordered two Panaflo M1A 80mm and the Seasonic Super Silencer 400w. Should get them this weekend sometime. Going to swap out the existing fans in the psu with the Panaflo's. Also am gathering the materials for a CPU duct mod like josephclemente's here . Highly doubtful if it will make that mu...

Really cool-looking mod! However....I am concerned about dust. If there were some way to filter that air, yet still be able to keep that cool blue effect, I would be shopping for the materials tonight. Maybe I missed something, but what did you use to line the hole in that side panel? Looks like sil...

Swap fans in a Super Silencer?
I'm thinking of swapping the fans out of a Seasonic Super Silencer 400w and replacing them with Panaflo 80L's. Has anyone done this? How much of a noise difference should I expect? Any dangers that I may not be aware of (besides voiding the warranty---gulp!)? All comments welcome...even the ones lik...

I've used the stuff from the auto stores (to line car door edges)--the black stuff, NOT the chrome. I just softened it up with a hairdryer while applying it. I've used it with success for 80mm holes and bigger...wouldn't try it for anything smaller--would probably peel off too easily from the tension.

...I want to be able to fit the new Thermalright XP-120. Whoa!....BIG mama. From the top edge of the mobo to the bottom edge of the psu is around 2". I suppose it all depends on the location of the socket on your particular mobo as to whether or not you will have enough clearance for that semi-truc...

Quiet Antec P-160
I had purchased a new Antec P-160 case and while perusing the Net for ideas on modding it, I came here and caught the Quiet Bug. Being a little cheap, I ordered a PowerSnooze sound dampening kit and combined it with a few pieces of other sound dampening material I had on hand. First thing was to sil...

Exhaust duct?
I'm sorry...did a search but came up with zilch. What is this that I hear (rumored?) that by putting a foam-lined exhaust duct on the back of a psu (pointed downward) does something to quiet down exhaust noise? If so, does anyone have pics/plans for this mod? I'd would surely appreciate it much. TIA!

Did this mod today (with some slight variations) and it worked like a charm. Thanks for posting this one, Joe! Couldn't find #2 self-tapping sheet metal screws anywhere, so I used #3 regular ones and just reversed the direction, then used #3 hex nuts to tighten them---put a small droplet of Locktite...

Thanks, guys. I'm off to go read that article. EDIT: Ok. I guess my next question would be: Since there seems to be "more noise" coming out from the front of the P-160 because of the large air opening, I'm wondering if it is really going to be cost effective to get the Acoustipak? I see the advantag...

To Dampen or Not To Dampen
Ok....just bought this Antec P-160. I was wondering....is it really worth my while to add damping material to it or not? I've been reading that with aluminum cases it is best to leave them alone so they can convey heat to the outside. I'd like to do as much as I can to quiet this puppy down (even mo...

Antec P-160 Front Fan
Just got the case and I noticed that while Antec provided for silent running with the rear fan, there appears to be no room for rubber fan mounts in the front fan casing (won't slide in as far as I can tell). Weird. I would like to put a 120mm blue LED fan there...3-pin, hooked into a fan controller...
